ogugua88: I'd call my sister who was just molested. Family first, so all the other ones are ruled out except for the mum being in surgery and dad's incarceration. I know that if I were to see either of my parents, one of the things they'd tell me to do is "look out for your siblings" and/or "take care of everything while I'm away". If either found out that I tended to their old selves rather than go to my sister when she needed family most, then they wouldn't forgive me. If they were in my shoes, then I'm confident that they would've made the same decision.

Lol only 40? Well, that's my reasoning. Once parents reach a certain age, they're ready for the worst and will tell you not to worry about them. My mother would be in the hands of trusted medical specialists. A phone call to her more than likely will not change the outcome.

As for the sister, who knows the kind of shape she is in? Was she beaten? Is she suffering internal injuries? Is the molester still there? Some people think that rape is only having your innocence taken and a girl crying afterwards. No. It could be gruesome. She could be dying. Rape trauma is a serious ordeal that needs immediate medical attention.

I may sound heartless, but I won't call my mother who I already know is ill and in hospital over a sister who could be anywhere and in any kind of state. Calling my mother over my molested sister for the sole benefit being "at least I spoke to her" comes off as selfish.
