geebeeohh: agree with u on this one but best drivers doesnt necessarily mean they are good, smugglers drive dangerously and would mow anything in sight down!! |

geebeeohh: F1 - Because it takes a lot of discipline and calculation to drive at speeds of 240mph (380km/h) and above and not have an incident/accident. I know because I drive between 100mph (160km/h) and 120mph (192km/h) or more if I get a chance and I know what it takes to drive that fast without getting into trouble, now imagine speeds double of that I would replace 5 with long distance bus drivers - those guys deserve far more respect than we give them, they know the roads like the back of their hands, they know alternate route, they also have mastered the art of navigating pothole infested roads day in day in for years on end without incident ( except for a few). Long distance truck drivers are known for intimidation and all sorts of malpractice and certainly do not qualify for the title which you seek to bequeath! I second the comment above about smugglers (but to be honest those guys can do stunts on vehicles, I have witnessed a few),I am not competent to comment on 1 and 4 because I don't follow those! 2 Likes |

for me it's the F1 Drivers and the smugglers aka fire wor. I comot cap for those guys. if you have driven in a convoy with these guys you would understand what I mean. |

1,3 and 5 Smugglers are damn good drivers forget about driving dangerously its part of the training. What is the difference between smugglers and Government convoy drivers? Seun please front age to av more views |

1..... rally drivers can go as fast as F1 drivers through mud, loose earth, ice and what have you with little or no incidents, they've mastered the art of making very sharp turns by drifting and avoid crashes by less than half inch. 3..... But smugglers!!!! I comot cap for dem oo, they'll outrun any law enforcement vehicle in pursuit, drive through any terrain in any vehicle either off-road capable or not. they will abuse any vehicle on any given road and end up delivering goods in top shape..... God bless the faya wors 5..... But we have to give it to long distance truck/bus drivers in 9ja e no easy at all |

lakefist: Most govt convoy drivers no sabi oo, they're only good driving within city through congested roads cos they move bumper to bumper, on the highway they are so gullible that's why we always come across news of govt convoys involved in fatal crashes or were attacked by assailants |

I remember how we always troop to the road to cheer the smugglers do their stunts around 90s in my hometown. Once we saw the escort/lead motorcycle we know the show is about to go down. You can have as much as 50 convoy of cars all trying to outdo each other with skills and stunts. I bow for them smugglers and still wish I can drive like that. 1 Like |

My dad is the best driver in the world and till today he performed a movie stunt in front of me. Going through ibadan expressway in a regular Benz 230E, we decided to follow police convoy through one way. As they passed a police van from the other side blocked him and 3 MIB jumped down, sensing my dad is finished, he jammed his gear in reverse stepped on throttle, I heard a defending vooooooooom, the MIB jumped in the vehicle and were hot on our tail, my dad looked at me, his face an expression of terror, use your seat belt he said, the vooooooooom felt like eternity until I saw my self launched to the extreme right, my head slammed on the window, what happen, my dad had done a perfect 180,he was now launching in the opposite direction, I was very happy, he was going back to get me my supreme ice cream whao. The police van and my dad were now side by side, and the MIB were telling my dad to pull over, my dad didn't budge, he saw an opening, veered dangerously left to jump to the other Lane using another 180 degree, not good enough, the right front tyre slammed into a gutter, the car was stucked, the MIB came down, my dad locked us in, the MIB were just smiling with there baton at a ready stance. Well I can't remember how my dad solved the issue I was too preoccupied with the supposed supreme ice cream. May God bless my dad soul wherever he is now. He was my hero. 2 Likes 1 Share |

1. Rally drivers F1 drivers are good but rally drivers are better. F1 drivers get just one terrain (asphalt) with custom sets of tires and suspension while rally drivers get just one set of tire and suspension to go on asphalt, sand, gravel, mud, and snow. They have to anticipate sharp bends and jumps covered by trees or bush. F1 drivers get to test the track and study the pattern but a rally driver gets a partner with a map and stopwatch yelling where he's at, seconds he's lost from last checkpoint and his split time on a none studied road. Go see "Dakar Rally". It takes erudite knowledge and expertise to keep a truck head (dangote head) drifting 360° and come down for a bottle of water then go back in to continue, only to end the session parking between two cars with less than a foot between both cars. If you know "Ken Block" then this debate is over. If you're hearing this name for the first time, look it up in YouTube. |

I think the truck drivers have it... it's not just the same driving mechanics again when you drive a truck compared to a car, and you have to keep anticipating the actions of silly drivers and riders who just cut in front of trucks carelessly... reversing gan, is another level of skill.. in no way some people who can't reverse a sedan to save their lives.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp21EJpMtZQ |

My Dad is the James Bond in my life, plus he is an automobile engineer though retired he still does jobs for his old faulks and mine. One scary thing he did was way back between 1995-1999 not sure what year. But were supposed to be headed to the village that friday evening from PH and we attended Adoration @ Elele Port-harcourt Owerri Road. We left the prayer ground @11pm with his corona he bought for N3000 back in the 80s brand new. So hit the road and that route had and still has bad pot holes on the road. I remeber sitting at the back right seat close to the door and he jumped two dangerous holes in the middle of the night simultaneously and the back right tyre was blown out the front right tyre was manageable. He changed the back one and we had none left again. He also lost his wheel covers.. On the course of the journey the same change back tyre blew again. He had no option because of how scary the road was and he drove the like that untill the tyre peeled out completely and shouted and told him that the tyre is smoking and was showing light on the ground he shut me up, we where on wheels only just like GTA. So we got to owerri in the night dunno what time. We met a vulcanizer whom gave a tyre and a wheel drum he also fixed the front one. The new back tyre was whistling while we drove and i asked dad why it was like that, he said it's a snow tyre.
