Match Preview;

This weekend’s fixture list in the English Premier Leagues sees a fascinating match up between two English heavyweights. Arsenal currently leads the way at the top of the league on 35 points while Manchester City sits in fourth position on 29. This game should be keenly contested, with both sides in good form at the moment.

Arsenal have been the best team in the Premier League so far this season as demonstrated by the 5 point lead they have opened up on their rivals at the top of the table. The capture of Mezut Ozil in the close season seems to have sparked them to life and Arsene Wenger has them well organized and playing good football. They haven’t lost since their last trip to Manchester in early November when United beat them 1-0, so they will be wary of another trip to the city. They have what it takes to do well though and will be approaching the game in a positive mood.

Manchester City will also be positive, not least because of their excellent midweek victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Bayern are the current holders of the Champions League trophy and can lay claim to being the best team in Europe at present, so City’s victory should be a massive boost for them. City have also been playing well at home recently and have recorded some big wins. They have scored 16 goals in their last three home games, with a 6-0 demolition of Tottenham the pick of these. Arsenal are a tougher prospect though and it should be a tighter game.

With a 6 point gap to make up, this game is probably more important for City and they really need the victory to cut this deficit. Arsenal will still be top after the game no matter what happens, but will be keen to extend their lead over their closest rivals with a victory. It should be a close fought game, with home advantage giving Manchester City the edge and this should be enough for them to take the points

Arsenal's indecisiveness in front of goal is going to cost them a defeat by a wide margin cos of City's ruthlessness in front of goal at home.
