The Federal Government has said no fewer than
19,000 persons in the South West part of the country
have so far benefitted from Community Services Women
and Youths Employment, CSWYE, project of Subsidy
Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE P.

Speaking through the Minister of Labour and
Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, in Oyo State, during a
sensitisation and appraisal tour of the CSWYE project of
SURE P, for the South West Geo Political zone,
beneficiaries recorded man hours work output of 27,
550,000 in the past one year.

A statement by Prince Samuel Olowookere, Deputy
Director, Press/Public Relations, Ministry of Labour,
quoted Chief Wogu as assuring Nigerians that the
administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, was
committed to job creation as well as empowerment of
women and youths for self reliance.

Chief Wogu, who recently led a high powered delegation
on CSWYE project of SURE P, to the Governor of Oyo
State, South West Geo Political zone, said: “I want to
re assure all the people of Oyo State and Nigerians at
large that, the promise made by Dr. Goodluck
Jonathan, to create jobs for Nigerian youths is being
successfully implemented through the CSWYE project.”
According to him, other five states in the South West
Geo Political zone had also benefited from the project
with a total beneficiary figure of 19,000 with man hours
work output of 27, 550,000.”

First of all we know that Emeka Wogu is a liar. He probably should have said 19,000 ghosts benefits from Sure-P. Where and how did they benefit?

And even if it is true (a 1% chance), a region that has 25 million people and you have created a scam that you claim has benefited only 19,000. Should we applaud you? The fuel subsidy you removed, has increased inflation and increased the cost of transportation and living expenses for ALL the people but your scam program has benefited only 19,000 and we should clap for you?

Rubbish!

Stop the lies. Sure-P was meant to replace the fuel subsidy. Everyone was affected by the increase in the fuel subsidy and you claim 19,000 ghosts have benefited from Sure-P. Tell mw how that solves anybody's problem.

My sis has kinda benefitted from sure p, and it ain't through any connection of any sort. She got linked to UBA, and would be retained after the completion of compulsory 1 year services... So Itz a good development, give kudos when it is due, don't criticise all the time, else you will die out of bitterness.

19,000 jobs is less than insignificant in a country like Nigeria with a population of approximately 170million people. Thats why many of you can feel the impact or even hear of someone that it affects

Now to be more candid the FG should stop the joke of 19,000 jobs today 9000 jobs tomoro. In a country with such high unemployment rate we need to create millions of jobs at time. How?

The government should start building and managing industries: steel, aluminium, coal, gold, manufacturing, sugar processing, cement, oil etc

and Please dont give that excuse that government has no business doing business. Before other developed countries handed over to private hands government ran companies for many years successfully. So dont tell me its not possible! angry
