I can understand your frustration.

Igbo Dbias are being shunned by their own people.

Many Igbos these days don't resepct elders and priests.

Due to lack of encouragement, Igbo Dbias have not been able to take maximum advantage of social media, like Yoruba Babalawos or even Akan Priests from Ghana.

Maybe because missionaries came into igboland and tore down the shrines of our fearsome gods - and they did absolutely nothing!

Lemme give you guys a little gem of wisdom...

Judges 6:31

31 And Joash said unto all that stood
against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.

Stop acting as apologists for ATR. If they are gods, let them dookie it out by themselves with the God from Israel who broke into their own turf, and took over...

That's all. cool

what wisdom dude? whats the wisdom in this?

When churches were being destroyed and christians fed to lions by the Romans, where was your israeli god?

Do you think a God is a human to fight over material things such as altars?

You dont get religion. It is not the Gods that depend on humans, it is the opposite.

your israeli god is losing hold over the world. europe is almost on the pathway to Atheism or neo-Paganism.

And then you conclude that Israel's God is superior to Nigerian Gods?
I don't see why you support foreign Gods over African Gods

Well, you gotta admit, it's pretty
ominous the way them missionaries
came, declared them powerless - and
went ahead to back up their claims
by destroying their shrines and
alters...

If amadioha had roasted the first
missionary who came near his shrine
with fire, do you think our forefathers
will have turned to worship God?
Re: Nigerian 'paganism' Thread by lanaVello1(m): 11:21pm On Dec 22, 2013
Btw,i think paganism goes beyond what y'all are talking about{igbo, yoruba and domestic gods}.
That word has a broader scope-like the polytheism part of it-I stand to be corrected though

Dude, Lord Amadioha won't just descend from the Skies in A Chariot and roast the missionary. The Gods work in their own ways.

And btw not all our forefathers converted ok? My forefathers didnt bow to any foreign god, for example.

Anyways the reason they converted was due to brainwashing, bribery (money, food, schools, etc.), peer pressure from society (e.g., parents usually were coerced into conversion after their children converted) , fake illusions of modernity, greed, slave trade, etc.

What do you mean by 'domestic Gods'

The Gods are Universal. It is just the names they are referred to by and the rituals , etc., associated with the particular Gods that differs from tribe to tribe based on the language , culture, etc.

E.g., Sango is loosely equal to Amadioha who is losely equal to Thor ,etc.
