Contrary to what many have been conditioned to believe, snakes seldom eat humans. A threatened snake will usually try to escape its human tormentor, if it can't get away, then it'll fight back.

Shattap there! Snake wey jam me one on one pursue me for no good reason. Anytime u see am, try reason with am

We Nigerians get so overexcited over a mere python.

its pathetic.

The reason being that there is hardly any wildlife left. so what little we see, excites us like babies.

It was not so in the days of our ancestors.

Sadly today, most Nigerian wildifes fate remains "decapitation". . sad

I know that a snake would go on its way if not threatened. But I wouldn't wait to find out if it ever had the intention of quietly going away.
Crush its head on sight please!!

Your unruly manners will be the bane of you. If you can't argue constructively, you resort to verbal abuse. It just goes to show you have the reasoning power of a gnat.

Baba419: Am dissapointed, some of you are here shouting see meat when a beautiful wildlife specimen is being killed for nothing. Thats like an african rock python and by the size it is as old as its killers, illiteracy will kill us before we know.
I dont understand what you mean by that.
Is it when the python start to each the villagers one after the other that they will react. Please it is better they kill it first before it kills them. Webdont need this type as a wildlife whatever.

seriously. Most Nigerians really don't care about wild life conservation. Do you know what it means to have such wonderful exotic creature. Many a times we see opportunities to succeed and we destroy as a result of ignorance. Do you know how many people would have loved to see this creature if it were to be caught alive and preserved. Seriously, i know that most people here on nairaland would go contrary to my thinking and that is why we have few people controls the wealth of everybody because they don't think the way the majority reason. I am not a lover of snakes but i believe this snake would have served our ecology better when alive than dead. Tanx

We no go give widelife chance for Nigga. If you try am na the animal go kill us for here finish. U can't compare Nigga with developed country where you have animal rescue team. And even if we have the team, to get ther in time na war. Just like police, fire fighter to mention but few.

you dont need a wildlife team for pythons.

6 grown up men cant catch a harmless python and put it in a bag?

or better still, just leave the poor creature about its way and mind your own business.
