Well here is a poem i wrote on democracy day. I wanted to summit it for a competition but later didnt. I tink odas shuld see it too.. So am going to post it here. Would appreciate ur criticism. Tanks.



DEMOCRACY: OUR DEMOCRACY

There are no more birds in our skies
for they have all migrated to foreign lands.
No more light in our day
for our days is colonized by nights.
No more hope in our hearts
for the air stenchof dying dreams.


There are no more thiefs with
guns
for all have embraced the pen.
No more aircraft that is safe
for safety is of the lord.
There are no more men
for the nation is the richest in africa.


There are no more wars
but ethnic battle for superiority.
No more elections
but selection by an opportuned few. There is no more sanity
for the nation has gone mad. There is no more country
but factions with common interest.
