Re: US Open 2008 by bagoma(f): 7:43pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
hey david, has the match ended already? Rafa lost? |
Re: US Open 2008 by bagoma(f): 7:49pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
@ darefestus, i'm sure you'd like for Nadal to lose, that way your Fed wont have to face his bogeyman. i would have love to see a nadal/fed final. the Us crowd would have loved that best too. anyway, let david confirm if my guy has lost. let me check on d net here too. (here on ESPN they are still on the 2nd set) |
Re: US Open 2008 by dinozzo(m): 7:51pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
play has been suspended, thank God |
Re: US Open 2008 by Nobody: 8:04pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
Game not yet over folks. Heavy rain has suspended play, its 2 sets to Murray, 3-2 to Nadal in the third. The rest will benefit Murray the most and he will win. I fancied Nadal in a marathon 5-setter but . . . its all well, the boy has tried. |
Re: US Open 2008 by FOD(m): 9:11pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
The rest of the match between Murray and Nadal will be concluded tomorrow. The women's final has been shifted till tomorrow too. It's a pity the men's final will be played on Monday as a result of this postponement . Will I have to skip work on Monday? |

It was important to stay grounded. I knew the tough times were going to arrive. -- Roger Federer , A year ago in the U.S. Open final, Djokovic led 6-5 in each of the opening two sets. In the first, he held five set points. In the second, he held two. He capitalized on zero, prompting this postmatch one-liner: "My next book is going to be called, 'Seven Set Points.' " But Djokovic is no longer as inexperienced, nor Federer as invincible. This time, Djokovic seized his third set point, returning a 121 mph serve and watching as Federer stepped up for what should have been an easy shot and rushed a forehand long, Those remaining in Ashe cheered for both No. 2 Federer and No. 3 Djokovic, to be sure, but there was more support for the reigning champion. Maybe that's because they remembered what happened Thursday night. After beating Andy Roddick, Djokovic drew merciless boos by lashing out at the American, taking him to task for making light of the Serb's series of medical issues earlier in the week, Or maybe the fans simply figured Federer needed an extra push during what, by his so-special standards, has been a sub-par season. He has 12 losses, more than in any entire season from 2004-07. He has only two titles, from minor events, his lowest total entering a U.S. Open since 2002. He faces the possibility of going through an entire year without a Grand Slam title for the first time since 2002 -- this from a guy who won three of the four major championships in 2004, 2006 and 2007. There was this hanging in the balance, too: Had Djokovic won this rematch of last year's U.S. Open final and gone on to take the title, he would have surpassed Federer in the rankings, dropping the longtime No. 1 all the way to No. 3. "This was a big match," said Federer, who is chasing Pete Sampras' record of 14 career Grand Slam championships. "I knew it from when I saw the draw.", |

I wonder what Rafa Nadal will be doing now,I hope he's not sleeping,he should rather figure out a way to counter Murray's annoying game plan kuz I must see him @ the finals against the Fed express. Anything short of that, then the us open is closed in my book |
Re: US Open 2008 by Nobody: 2:46pm On Sep 07, 2008 |
i'd prefer Rafa lost now. Less points to defend next yr. |
Re: US Open 2008 by iice(f): 4:19pm On Sep 07, 2008 |

Re: US Open 2008 by Nobody: 5:02pm On Sep 07, 2008 |
bagoma:Who cares what they would luv to see,if they like make them build person with the Serve of SAMPRAS,Technique of AGASSI,Power of BERG,Defence of NADAL,Cunningness of DJUKOVIC, Federer is going to beat them together,to be a champion you must be ready to play the best, thats what ,Analysts say, BE COOL |
