Anyway, i noticed u had an excellent tutorial on this thread, i didnt see that before. Thanks for helping us up here. After reading it i noticed my vray version may not be complete, there r only 2 vray light: vray light and vray sun. I do not have a vray IES. So it must b the features were reduced, it being a non commercial version. Could u link me up to a full version for max 9? I have the plugin for 2010 but its terribly slow on my PC.

[size=14pt]hmnnn i have the max 8, 9 and 10 but its a pity im not around, but mayb if u use torrent then download them from torrent, i downloaded all from there. . . you'd enjoy the torrent tho if you have a very fast broadband. . . just type "torrent: 3ds max 9" in google and follow up from there. . . be careful of those torrent viruses tho. . .

Yeah, the thing was trying to render for 8 hours, i didnt have that time so i reduced all the quality.

nice one guy, that particular scene shouldnt even take up to 30 min on the system ure using, the only prob i'm seeing here as 5p1naz stated is the noise. i noticed its restricted to only the brown tiles, so just reduce ur reflection glossiness for that mat to say 0.98, u could also ante the subdivision to 15 or 20 so its more evenly distributed and smoother, cheeers

sorry correct that to "white tiles" , as for vray ies, it really wouldnt make a difference if u use standard or photometric web and choose an ies from its options. u set it to cast vray shadows and ure done. Moving to higher versions of max cos of a feature does have its advantages but there are also setbacks. systems for one, larger memories and all that ish. rpc's have been more stable with max 9 and 2009 than any other, and right now no good cracks for 11.

You r right. reduced the time and got better result. I wanted blurry reflections
