nonjebose: You are right. I have been optimistic right from onset, out of patriotism. I was impressed with their first half performance. Onazi gets injured,Keshi is confused whether to bring on Azeez or Ruben. Midfield breaks down with Ruben on,keshi watches helplessly until we conceeded two goals. He has paid his dues. Won afcon, and second round at WC. Wish him well in his future assignment

Rumour has it that he's going to S. Africa
It's fine if he goes...he has done well for us. Congrats to him!

We should hire his assistant to continue this (pass and move/ counterattacking) style of play but just get in fresh players and we will be good to go.

I feel like if we get a totally fresh guy, we will be starting from square one although we dont need to. We have quality players who were not called up that should be intergrated into the team.

we just need to keep playing OUR OWN style of playing (like germany has theirs, italy has theirs, spain has theirs etc)

Metalbell:
What is a Mikel?
1. A Magician: He's right in front of you for 90
minutes, but you only get to see him for 30
seconds picking up a yellow card.
2. A Mikel is a Nigerian Ferrari with the engine of a Picanto.
3. A Mikel is anything that has weight, occupies
space, breathes but remains stationary.
4. A Mikel is a confused strolling object that has
no focus. 5. It is an SI unit for measuring
deceleration, e.g the car decelerated by 2 mikel/ sec.
6. The botanical name of a snail, Mikelis Obilis.
7. Anybody who can pass the ball but can't shoot,
cross, head, or be creative. e.g, My grandma is a
Mikel.
8. A mikel is that footballer who is allergic to goals. What does Mikel mean to you?
A professor was asked and he has this to say:
1. A mikel can be define as a person/object that
runs/walks/hops/strolls/jogs/crawl from one
side of the field to the other, eg obi is a mikel.
2. IDIOM: /to be in a mikel with one/: to be tired, lazy, weak, refusing to be active, energetic , or just
being lazy with a friend or lover etc.

Guy, you are crazy! Thanks for making me laugh. I've been frowning and cursing everyone at home. well I guess you've brought me back...kudos.

Now let's do away with 80% of this present eagles, then nurture the U-20 into the next Se..

players to pick for 2018

Onazi
Azeez
Musa
Omeruo
Oboabona

These players can be mixed up with the Garba Manu led U-20+ ENYEAMA but would be too old by 2018.

htconeline: Mikel should not be invited to any fotball competition in Nigeria again.

Chelsea pls offload mikel

Plsssss.
who can play his role? Besides your coach gambled. Mikel is a holding MF and Keshi is using him as a creative one. What do you expect? If you want to criticise do it constructively. You can phone Roman Abrahamovich to discard Mikel. I wonder the way you people think. What did Xavi, Iniesta, Gerald and co played at the worldcup?

I won't call Nigeria's defeat today a surprise, most analysts never saw the super eagles winning this encounter.

I think the Super eagles surpassed my expectations in this game, for the most part, they played better than France and could have taken the lead had they been more effective in front if goal.

Now they need to work on certain areas of the team, defence is so far very solid but attacking wise, they are impotent. There was no attacking prowess, nobody who could spring up magical moments, and no decisiveness in front of goal.

However the Achilles hill of this team, is set pieces, Nigerian defence is very susceptible to set pieces, the two goals today came from a corner kick, against Argentina, their winning goal came from a corner kick as well, you can't go far in the World Cup with this sort of weaknesses.

Nigeria had more than 10 corner kicks but none was properly delivered into the box, same applies to free kicks, we have no specialist, it's quite sad that 8 years after Jay Jay retired, the super eagles hasn't been able to produce one set piece specialist. They have to go back to the drawing board and master these little things because they count very much in football.

I'm glad we bowed out honourably, because if one way or the other we advanced into the Quater Finals, my goodness!!! Germany would have made mince meat of us.

i added a few guys to ur list (some of them can be subs on the bench..we need depth on our bench)
enyema will not be too old. by next world cup only 36...some keepers keep going till 40. If anything, keepers get better and smarter with age (eg: cech, van der sar, schmeichel etc)

However, he's a far superior defender compared to Echiejile. The Echiejile guy was rubbish and most times -1 at the African cup. And how are we sure, if he were to be at the world cup, he won't be as useless as he was last year?

It has nothing to do with team selection...learn to critique without sentiments.

Niigga stop hiding your tribalism ; Oshaniwa is the worst left back we ever had both in defending and joining attack. His passes were also horrible and I wonder da heck he is doing in Turkey. Don't you ever compare Echiejile and Oshaniwa.....nonsense.

Cheny: Many nigerians on this forum happen to be kids. The kinds of comments and analysis displayed whenever things dont go their way is baffling.Must players/coaches be unnecessarily blamed whenever we lose a game.Even when we blame, must we insult the players? The players gave a good fight and the game could have gone either way. Most comments here are crude, insultive and shameful.

The game could not have gone either way, it was a no contest and the worst in the round of 16 so far.

You honestly think everyone is like you and your idi.otic brothers who critique based on tribe, no? When you watch sport, tribe should be the last thing on your mind. Your utterly useless Echiejile was the weakest link at the last African cup - and he was guilty of a few goals. And that was against tactically and technically inept African teams. Now imagine how much of a disaster he would've been if he had been selected to play against players at this level. Defensively, the Oshinawa guy is far superior to him - FACT!

Fam, fvck off my face. if you want an Igbo team - go create ya own Biafra and get your bantu people there to play for you in an all bantu team.

chevchenko: they also realised Onazi and Efe were the engine of the team, so they took them out (Onazi completely, Efe partially), same tactics was used in 1994 by the Italians.

God bless you. What I want to know is, WHY DON'T WE EMPLOY SIMILAR STRATEGIES TO NULLIFY OUR OPPONENTS' THREAT? Keshi could have designated someone to take out Pogba before say the 30th minute. We are always the victim. WE TOO MUST LEARN TO PLAN AND PLAY DIRTY. But No. Next world cup we will go there again with our INNOCENTI NONSENSE.
