Still waiting for ur response2my question on registration on mobile health insurance in Ibadan.

The National Mobile Health Insurance is not yet active in Ibadan but hopefully in the next few weeks, it will be active. Your subscription is active and once the launch gets to Ibadan, you can continue using your insurance and complete registration.

• Prescribed drugs, phamaceutical cares and diagnostic tests as contained in the NHIS essential drugs list and diagnostic test list
• Health education
• Consultation with specialist such as gynaecologiste
I will also advice you to have your HMO phone number so you can call anytime you are stock to ask if for directives.
pls I have this NHIS cover through an organization which of the hospitals or NHIS hospital I can go to in lagos...

U must ve chosen a hospital(HCF) wen u were been registered, if u don't no ur hospital u can go 2 any of our office with ur NHIS card or number to ve a staff check for u. If u no ur HCF bt you are in a different state frm where u 1st registered dn u can also go along with a passport photo so that d HCF can b changed for u.

Ive actually been sick since Thursday, but ive been afraid of getting treatment cos anytime I start malaria treatment, I get so knocked down with severe fever, severe headache, weakness, very high temperature and hallucinations (yup).

What I didn't know was that its cos of the Artesunate they keep giving me at the hospital. And do u know why they keep killing me with Artesunate? It's cos its just cheaper, and virtually free, and I'm on NHIS.

I actually found this wickedness out cos this time around, going by people's advice, I asked for Lonart specifically, and the doctor told me my insurance doesnt cover Lonart!! Are you kidding me?? Lonart of N1,000?

So they just deduct a huge chunk of my salary in the name of NHIS and give me free drugs that are also killing me? angry angry angry

Sorry bro. Report to your HMO. That's the first step. I may be luckier than you but when I get malaria, with any ACT I am whole. Common Malareich of N120 treats me. Artesunate and Lonart are too strong for me. Anyway, report to your HMO. They should be able to handle it.

Post natal care for a baby whose mother is covered under NHIS is 12wks, tell the person that told u 6wks to read d 2012 operational guideline or better stil tell them to call ur HMO or u call call ur HMO to confirm anytin u r nt sure of.

NHIS is a federal govt parastatal under d ministry of health. NHIS has its own programmes for individuals, students, fed govt workers, private sector etc. NHIS is d regulator body to all other health insurance companies.
Yes employees of NHIS can go out to market old and new programmes, we also go out to sensitize but we all are paid salaries as staff that we are. We ve a saying in lagos dat In NHIS all staffs are marketers.

I really don't understand my dear. In anycase, there are other anti-biotics. Must it have been Augumentin? Then again, it doesn't cure malaria. You were being treated for malaria and something else.

Hope you understand the 10% co-payment I mentioned?

@gboliwe,I had a slight pain at my shoulder and consulted a doctor at JAJA clinic in UI and was summoned for xray scan, that doctor said NHIS doesn't cover it,fertility test, pregnancy test all not covered by NHIS.pls what is going on?

sometimes back I had issues with my teeth and due to unavailability of a dentist at the clinic I was referred to UCH though everything is covered by NHIS starting with the card, scan and treatment except drugs and if I tell you the hell I went through that day signing & stamping papers kilometres away just to be treated under NHIS.funny aspect of it is that there's a particular spot on the papers which the NHIS stamp must stand, otherwise it would be rejected and you have to walk back kilometres to get a second stamp on the same sheet documents. haba!

I think I'm under RONSBERGER..pls explain this.thank you

Sorry about the stress and the "slight" pain you are having. I am not sure NHIS covers fertility tests. If you remind me during work hours tomorrow, i'll check it out. PT is a simple test. NHIS cover it. I also know that chest xray, ankle xray are covered so I guess arm or is it shoulder should be covered too.

While I look at it, please, call Ronsberger and complain to them. They should be by your side in this "trying" times. Lol. Sorry again

Fertility tests for males and females are different procedures.
