14. Cut your lining exactly the same shape as the front and back blouse pieces. 15. Join the front lining to the front main fabric. Do same for the back but remember to insert your zip down the back first. 16. Join the sleeve to the left and right side of the blouse following the drawing below. 17. Lastly join the front and back of the blouse together sewing down the sides. Thank you.

ucheody: The part of the blouse used to tighten the neckline is the upper chest area of the princess dart. You hold it in an extra 1/2 inch on each side and taper it gradually to the bust point. This helps to remove excess fabric at the neck area and make it sit firmly on your body but not too tight. In the diagram below i have circled it in red and shaded with grey paint. 2 Likes

ucheody: Hello @ucheody apologies for the long absence. To lengthen the sleeve is very simple and straight forward. Look at the diagram below. On the left is the original pattern (short) on the right is the long version of it. All you need to do is decide how long you want your sleeve and measure it down from the shoulder (SH) i used red lines to make it easy to understand. Also remember to cross check your arm measurement (some people call it round hand) at the point where you want your sleeve to stop to avoid a very tight sleeve. 2 Likes

Hello dear ladies (and gentlemen) thanks for all the calls and chats and encouragements from Nigeria, UK and USA God bless you all real good. Sorry for the long absence oh, quite busy with the wedding gown trainings. The training went well and was a wonderful experience below is a picture of just one of the dresses made by a wonderful student. Infact i learnt so much from her  God bless you Rachiee, you are a darling.This particular dress is the traditional ball gown wedding dress but the upper part has a bustier overlaid with lace. The lower part is covered in hand stitched lace cut-outs and stones at intervals. The back has a plunging neck. The picture does not do the dress justice at all, but am sure you get the picture.

One major advantage you gain when you can sew is you hardly waste fabric. Also you can use left over scraps to make simple but cute dresses for your little angel or prince as the case may be. The below dresses were all made from left over scraps of fabric added With a bit of creativity and cheap buttons .... You could even make them and display for sale or take them to schools and maybe your church (thank me later )I forgot to take pictures of the back but they all have sash to tie at the back.
