What's your status? I.e, are you working? If yes, what's the nature of your job? Can you squeeze out time to manage your own business? What's your location?

it will cost you about N35,250 to raise 100broiler from day-old to 6-7 weeks. A short analysis is presented below:

Day-old chicks = N150 x 100 = N15,000.
Feeds = N2,250 x 9 = N20,250
Vaccine = N2,000
Other expenses = N3,000

Total = N40,250.

Note: the values presented above might be slightly different in your location.

Now, in most parts of Nigeria, farm price of chicken is N650 per Kg (dressed weight). Btw 6-7weeks, your birds should attain an average dressed weight of 1.2Kg.

Assuming 15% mortality (with good management, mortality is usually less than 10%) we have 85 birds left with an average dressed weight of 1.2Kg each. The total weight of your birds will then be 102Kg.

Now, selling at a discount price of N620 per Kg, you total sales will be:

N620 x 102 = N63,240
Subtracting your production cost (expenses), you are left with a profit of N22,990.

The above analysis is for producing 1set of broiler birds. To get the N40,000 monthly which I mentioned earlier, you should be able to harvest twice in a month (every two weeks).

To be able to harvest every 2weeks, you will
need three poultry pens(cage). If you stock
pen1 today, pen2 should be stocked 2wks
after today, while pen three is stocked 2wks
after pen2 is stocked. With this, you have
3sets of birds with 2wks age interval.

So virtually, your start-up capital should be enough to raise 3sets of 100birds which is about N120,000. However, you will need an additional money (about 50K) to get a carpenter to construct the poultry (pens)cages for you and the buy equipment like drinkers, feeders, etc.

4gt to mention. You get additional revenue from selling the poultry waste (manure).

I hope this info helps. Feel free to ask, if you need more info.

Tipper 1.5m, Dana 1.2m.

150k can not make that happen. But with 150k u can can open a barbing saloon, put people there and be collecting 10k monthly depending on the area or u can aswell risk it in buy of farm produce such as palm oil, ogbono etc and store it for its season of scarcity. In a year if well managed that 150 can give birth to 50, 70, 100 or even double its capital.
