(CNN) -- An Air Algerie flight lost contact 50 minutes after takeoff from Burkina Faso, prompting a search for the missing airliner, Algeria's state news agency said Thursday. Flight AH 5017 left Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, for the Algerian capital of Algiers at 12:45 a.m. Thursday local time (8:45 p.m. Wednesday ET).
