The Executive Governor of Abia state, Chief T. A. Orji has consistently in words and action displayed his disdain for the hallowed principle of judicial independence and integrity.
Between 2009 and 2014 Abia state High court operated with five acting chief judges upon the retirement of Hon. Justice S. N. Imo. A well arranged plan by the Governor to impose Hon. Justice A. U. Kanu, a die-hard supporter and friend of the governor as chief judge was resisted by the Bar Association in the state. Justice A. U. Kanu who shamefully agreed to be used to destabilize the judiciary was as at that time number 23 on the ranking of Abia state high court judges. He the most junior among those appointed in 2004.
The attempt by the Governor to use Hon. Justice S. Nwanosike as acting chief judge for three years backfired as the same judge was indicted by the NJC for age falsification, an offence he committed with the active collaboration of the Governor and the AG.
Despite the embarrassing state of infrastructure in the Abia state judiciary, the Governor in conjunction with his rubber stamp judicial service commission keeps on appointing magistrates like no man business. At the last count we have about 80 magistrates using not more than a total number of 35 court halls all through the state. Magistrates in Abia state sit on shift arrangement based on the fact that they share chambers as well as court halls. These facts are already in the public domain.
In Abia state, high court / customary court of appeals judges appointed since 2012 including the two that were appointed in April this year have not been given any official cars. Each time that NJC send their inspectors to ascertain and verify the readiness of the state govt. for new judicial appointments, the governor in collaboration with the chief judge will fraudulently arrange for plate numbers to be removed from cars belonging to government officials and such cars will then be paraded and shown to the NJC officials as cars bought for new judges. While members of the state house of assembly are now using their second PRADO jeeps within this legislation tenure, Abia state judges are condemned to old model Camry cars given to them in 2009. Abia is the only state in the south where the judges are declared unqualified to use SUV cars while the Governor arbitrarily gives out SUV cars to touts and other funny characters.
Now that the current chief judge Nnenna Oti is about to retire in September 2014 there is a move to appoint a non-indigene justice Theresa Uzokwe. Justice Uzokwe is not connected to Abia state either by birth or marriage. The Governor is aware that Uzokwe does not enjoy the confidence and the goodwill of members of the bar as well as her brother judges but is selfishly committed to appointing her as chief judge.
Uzokwe’s only credential is her alleged romance with the Governor and her promise to hand over the administration of the judiciary to the government house if appointed. It is important to note that while the Governor is not ready to appoint and/or tolerate a non-indigene as permanent secretary, commissioner, director or indeed head of any critical department in the Abia public service, but curiously the same Governor is determined to appoint a non-indigene as head of the third arm of government just to satisfy his lust for erotic demands. Posterity will judge the sanity in this satanic move by T. A.
Right now there is a move by the Governor to remove the current chief judge who is about to retire in less than two months from now. The Abia house of assembly being the Governors henchmen have already been handsomely mobilized for this infamous project. Nnenna Oti’s offence as disclosed by the Governor is that she transferred some judges who are the Governors friends to new stations without the approval of the Governor!!
The whole world should rise and condemn the barbaric acts of T. A. Orji and his cohorts.

Is T. A. Orji higher than everybody in Abia State?
Even higher to Lawyers?
Why not move a vote for his impeachment.
Is only in Abia state that taughts are respected in the community than graduates just because of the slowpoke called T. A.
Does it mean no body can stop him?
Does it means his own secret cult is higher than even the lawyers cult?
Does it means his own devil cannot be found in the whole world?

See our roads, our schools, nothing is moving in this state.
Infact, we the youths are not happy. One day, I say one good day----both the Gov and his cohots..............just one day.
