This is how these guys misuse and bastardize our courts. I expect the courts to throw this case out and not hide under the guise of technicalities to hear the case. Arrant nonsense... |

He has a case in an IDEAL justice and democratic system but the unfortunate thing is that the Nigerian system is not ideal system. This case may drag for years, frustrate him and drain his money in the process |

he has a case,a very good case. the doctrine of neccesity wasnt observed.the governor that was impeached should have handed over to him or the national assembly shouldnt have have him made the governor first before forcing him to resign and handover to to the acting speaker who would av been the deputy governor by then. thye mistake they made was 1.they would have impeached both of them,i wonder why they didnt do so. 2.they would have handed over to him first before forcing him to resign to the next in command |

He technically did not resign..... Okay The Governor was impeached.....Okay An acting Governor was sworn in....Okay Was he on leave, in a coma or probably in custody of his girlfriend when all this was going on? Were there no courts from which he could have sort to restrain the Chief Judge from swearing in the speaker? Why has it become convenient for him to run to court that he was said to have resign in error? 90 days are ticking away. |

romzyxy: according to d statement above.......d deputy govornor said he wants to resign and send a letter bt didnt receive an answer.nw he wants to be sworn in as d govornor.is that possible? Not exactly true, i am not a lawyer but they have this maxim that 'He who comes to equity must come with clean hands'; as a lawyer himself i thought he will know better, his resignation letter was read at the floor of the state house of assembly and another second letter from his boss the governor then who notified the state house of assembly of his deputy's resignation and the governor on that note nominated one of the member of the state assembly as his deputy. If he did not resign or was forced to like he wants to claim, who forced him? who delivered the resignation letter to the state house of assembly, how did his boss referenced the resignation and even nominated a supposed new deputy governor? and who asked his press secretary to issue a press release that he the deputy govnr has indeed resign?. Granted that his resignation technically has procedural lapses,he now wants to benefit from a wrong he initiated and executed? there are lawyers in the house perhaps they can shed more light on this; but i was there when his resignation letter was read at the floor of the state house of assembly the day his boss was impeached. |

ayukdaboss: If that is the new style I think I should go to court and ask them to swear me in as the ne Cross River State governor. This is a plan by the pdp in the state unfortunately they are wise by half they are scared of the electorates of that statte especicially now that the people has fully understood the those behind the impeachment . |

romzyxy: according to d statement above.......d deputy govornor said he wants to resign and send a letter bt didnt receive an answer.nw he wants to be sworn in as d govornor.is that possible? The deputy gov was forced to address his resignation letter to the speaker but the constitution say his letter is supposed to be addressed to the gov. who was yet to be impeached as at that time. |

The man has a legit claim to the seat of the gov. Winning in court is another kettle of fish entirely. This whole thing is a pointer to the fact that the impeachment was borne out of personal and selfish motive. The lawmakers ddnt see this coming in their blind rush for power. The young man should pursue the matter. Nigeria politicians are all the same be it pdp or apc. They are only fighting for their selfish inerests. Nothing is ever done for the pple. God help Nigeria. |
