The soldier ran into the church compound. 'Stop or I shoot' You know what they call me? ''Kill And Go'' because I would shoot you and I would go! The first time I learnt about these words was from Chimamanda Adichie's book ''Half of a yellow sun''. However, the original phrase ''Kill And go'' was a nickname given to the Nigerian police force during the 90's. This is because they were known (still known) to gun down innocent civilians and simply walk away with impunity.

Tram passes over old carter bridge (1907). In a 1958 letter written by Archdeacon G, Burton who lived at Owo, he says: “I landed in Lagos on November 11th 1907 and I remember, I travelled to Iddo Station on the old Steam Tramway at a cost of 2d. I joined the line somewhere near the present ferry terminus (opposite Bishops Court). It ran along the Marina on the Lagoon side until it reached the customs sheds then turned at right angles up Balogun street and then proceeded to the Carte Bridge and Iddo Station. It was a very great convenience in pre motor days. It was of course very slow, but it eventually got you to the station in reasonable comfort. The fares were: Kokomaiko to Iddo, 3d; Christ Church to Iddo 2d; and Ereko to Iddo 1d. Note: (1d refers to 1 penny).

On the border between Niger and Libya. Illegal immigrants from Nigeria and South Niger flee their hunger stricken homelands and cross the Libyan border on trucks, in the hope of finding work. The truck drivers often abandon them in the desert, 200-250 kms from the cities, if they see any sign of control. The migrants are used to living in forests and are completely unprepared for the desert. Amazingly, this practice goes on till this day.

Nigeria is a serious joke. Nobody had been arrested nor prosecuted for the missing N25 billion that mysteriously disappeared from the PTF under Buhari!

Even Buhari himself has not raised a finger to point out how the billions disappeared!
Yet, we call ourselves a serious country, and white wash these corrupt men as honest people?

PTF Fraud: How N25 Billion was stolen under Buhari’s watch

http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/ptf-fraud-how-n25-billion-was-stolen-under-buharis-watch/

You are an eediot. No money disappeared under PTF or any of Buhari's tenure of office all of which were disciplined , transparent and full of integrity. If you have any evidence why don't you go to court ? Are you not a Nigerian ? And please hurry as you have the most vindictive and most corrupt government in place who are desperately looking for Buhari's fault. You could easily be a multimillionaire , richer than combined Stella Oduah and Alagmesia if you can give them the evidence you claim to have..

What more can i say! Beautiful, soul searching and sad at the same time. The pictures from the Biafran war were heartbreaking..Pictures of smiling happy kids and lovely interacting populace give me hope that joy can still be found in our current maze of errors..All in all,Nigeria is still within the throes of redemption if only all the commentators who laud the beauty in these pictures vis our possibilities as a people will start preaching the message of change, restitution, genuine reconciliation and love..It is well with us all!!

He remains the only leader so far in the history of this country that nobody has been able to bring any charges against. If you think there's any both as an head of state and ptf chairman, oya mr. Re: RARE Photos Of Young Nigeria [[More Pictures]] by Calculia: 9:32pm On Aug 08, 2014
Those of u celebrating Biafra war with pictures of innocent civilians killed by the coward Nigeria Army, should understand that Biafra fought the entire country with no weapons apart from a manual riffle, whilst Nigeria had automatic guns and a fully mobile artillery(all the weapons) and still did not win.

The war only ended after Three and the half years becos of the illegal blockade of Biafra by the criminal Gowon led Government. This time Biafra is Armed and fully loaded, i only pity Nigeria Aboki and their ally.

Gallant Biafra Soldier take up position. Locally made early IED, locally made armoured tank and the famous and most destructive Ogbunigwe

Wars are not won on the count of civilian casualty but military casualty. Biafra suffered heavy civilian loses caused by the blockade equivalent to an international strangulation sanction but Nigeria suffered far more military loses at the hands of Biafra with over half a million Nigeria recorded military death. On that count Biafra was victorious.

Ojukwu left becos the war would have raged on had he stayed after an agreement was reached to stop the war due to the blockade.

Secondly, Gowon words was no victor, no vanquish precisely becos Nigeria never won any war. U don't win wars by begging cameroon and giving dem oil rich bakassi to blockade ur opponent.

The blockade killed more Biafrans dan any Nigeria weapon and that was the reason the war ended. How can Nigeria commit any genocide wen the feared Biafrans still had their guns in plain view of the Nigerian Army after the war? Go and learn ur history.

@ bolded................you mean, the genocide Ojukwu told his people would happen if the nigeria govt defeats biafra, didn't?

So, why then did he lie to his people and subsequently led them into a shambolic war, only to abandon them when his "purported genocide" was about to occur?
