DjAndroid: Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Monday said all the patients who had tested positive to the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and currently undergoing treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, were in “stable condition”.

The governor also explained that while the health status of the victims of the deadly virus had not deteriorated, five of them were “really improving,” adding, “Ebola is not an automatic death sentence.”

Provided it's not yet another political statements.

GentleMimi: USA denied Naija the ZMapp serum.
Our Nigerian patients (apart from the nurse) are still alive till now. What else can i say? The ''Balm Of Gilead'' is at work.. Prayers are going on for all of them by family and colleagues. I pray the Good Lord becomes our Zmapp.
Not only will he preserve them,he will make them whole. I pray they come out of this alive, and all organs intact and functioning perfectly. Is anything too difficult for God? No. We will do our best, the Lord will do beyond the best.
This should be a lesson to Naija government. Buckle down!!!
Pls always remember them in ur prayers. We shall overcome!
FIXED.

This latest alert from the US Embassy here in Nigeria about the much talked about Ebola virus is a sort of relief especially to those who have been reading so many scary and panic information online. Even the statements from the Federal government yesterday doesn't help matter. So now make sure you read this information and have some peace of mind. Read below...
In order to help our Embassy Community better understand some of the key points about the Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical specialists at the U S State Department and assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension. Our medical specialists remind everyone that they should be following the guideline from the center for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.
• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.
• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.
• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.
• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids. Continue...
• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.
• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.
• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).
• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.
• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.
• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.
• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.

SexyFox: Are you sure they are not using them as lab rat to test their kola nut theory? I am surprise that a whole 5 are recovering. If true, then thanks be to God for their survival.
Bros, don't forget to take your medications..

Well its good news for Nigeria but they should be very careful of what they tag recovery. The Ebola virus in some of these patients may have switched to the 'latent phase' where it signs and symptoms reduces and the viral load decreases significantly or is undetectable in the blood.

If this is the case, the patient can develop the symptoms and become infectious once again once the virus switches back to the lysogenic cycle at a later date.

Who said nigerians aint fighters. Pray they all recover fully and also hope the retaards that are on the run if they are chanced to read this; Ebola isn't a death sentence its treatable in its earliest stage and if you eventually survive, your body develops a forever lasting defence mechanism which you can luckily transfer to your future offspring/generations against the ebola virus

Amen to that!

Even if they are lab rats, the virus was def not injected into them for the purpose of testing their theory. You just don't believe something good can come out of their Nazareth!
I pray they all continue on the recovery path till that day we read about their total recovery in Jesus name.
I never made a statement, I only ask a question. And did you read my last sentence. I am a christian too and I believe in God.
