Nigeria has received an experimental drug
from an unnamed Nigerian scientist to treat Ebola
virus, the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said in Abuja on Thursday. Chukwu, who gave the
cheering news at a news conference, gave the
name of the drug as “Nanosilver.”
“The only experimental drug we have now is
Nanosilver, provided by a Nigerian scientist;
details of the drug will be disclosed later to
the media. “However, we have 11 confirmed
cases of Ebola in Nigeria, out of these, three
are dead, Patrick Sawyer, a Nigeria nurse and
ECOWAS protocol officer.Apart from Lagos,
there is no Ebola case in any states of the federation……

A drug, called “Nanosilver” an experimental

Meanwhile, it was gathered that Dr (Mrs) Rima
E. Laibow, the medical doctor behind 'Nano
Silver' has written an open letter to President
Goodluck Jonathan over the availability of the
'cure'.
The drug, called “Nanosilver”, can now be used
following the approval by the World Health
Organisation (WHO) that experimental
treatments are ethical in the case of the Ebola
pandemic.

Another experimental drug, ZMapp had been
sent to Liberia on Wednesday, while Canada
has decided to donate 1,000 vaccines to the
affected countries.
According to Chukwu, the experimental drug is
a donation from a Nigerian scientist who was
concerned about threat of Ebola in his home
country. “The drug will reach Nigeria today,” he
said. Chukwu disclosed that the 169 secondary
contacts were still under surveillance, while in
all Ebola 11 cases had been recorded,
including the index case, Patrick Sawyer, and
the two Nigerians who died of the disease. “
According to the founder of Nanosilver

potential contacts, Ebola and other contagious
