There has been a growing trend of producers holding auditions where they demand money from the young acts if they want to be auditioned. It's a cancer worm that started in the modelling industry (I worked with a modelling agency in the late 90's and they didn't demand for any fees before I joined) and has spread to the movie industry. Many young people in desperation submit to this illegality and the result can be seen in the increasing number of productions where some people make fools of themselves in the name of acting in TV series and movies and make acting look unprofessional.
