Accuses Borno govt, military of lying to the public

The Senator representing Borno Central at the National Assembly, Ahmed Zannah, has challenged both the Borno state government and military authority to take the media to Bama to cross check their claims that the town has not be captured by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The senator in a telephone chat on Wednesday afternoon with our correspondent said: "As I am speaking to you Bama has been captured and the insurgents on the prowling for any male, killing at will."

He added , "Everyone is a target as long as you are male but for now women and children are being sparred."

Recounting a personal loss, Zannah said he lost two nephews to the insurgents who according to him captured Bama on Tuesday.

He said: "They entered my brother's house in Bama and shot his two sons they met at the residence."

Zannah who is an indigene of Bama, 78 kilometres from Maiduguri said: "Both the military and Borno state government are lying to Nigerians, and to prove that I am the one misinforming the public they should take journalists to the town to cross check the fact."

It would be recalled that after Zannah on Tuesday morning granted an interview that Bama has been captured by the terrorist group, Borno state government and the youth vigilante group swiftly came out to call his claim a lie and politically motivated.

This man is one of BH sympathisers who is trying to cause panic every where. So because two of his nephew's were killed it means BH is already in control of Bama smh

Its time to make the truth known OPENLY. Take the press to Bama township and prove those bastards haven't taken the place.

I think Bama is under boko haram control because the senator is from that town and military are in maiduguri saying Bama is not under boko haram. Why don't the military leaders go to Bama rather than remain in maiduguri making statements

Must you bring in APC? How is APC supporting Boko Haram? Is Borno State Governor not an APC member on the side of the military?

Why hasn't the Army done a press conference from Bama after 4 days and why is the Bama brigade commander still in maidugdri with all his men as we speak.. Something is not just right here.. Sha since they don't want to do press conference from Bama , Shekau would soon release one of thos his stupid you tube videos claiming bama
