Pls which of this SUV is more durable and can smoothly run on a bad road and also with low maintenance cost. Non problematic in nature. RAV4 2002 model and Lexus RX 300 2000 model.

Don't even think of RAV4,by the time you start experiencing ECU problem.you will regret having it. RX300 all the way.

Hmmm...i normally dont like giving specific answers to these questions- so I usually keep silent....But in this case, avoid the Rav4 .Avoid it like HELL. they've got this trans problem creeping up after some point. That all aside the lexus rx300 is a nicer car, when you take away premium on the luxury margue, and the poorer fuel economy.

But then, ive not even been to nigeria before.....if transmissions are cheaper than indomie there feel free to go for the rav4

Really the op mentioned bad road and non problematic in his post. The said Rav4 rolled out the factory line with a bad ECU and Transmission. Don't be quick to jump on the Toyota bandwagon.

The Lexus is a better car considering bad roads but it isn't just as economical fuel wise as the Rav4.

I have not; I usse a T. Corolla; n dats perfect for me; but I have friends dat own both cars, n I'm only judging 4rm dia experiences ....

Then take it from me, having gone thru both online reviews, physical inspection, speaking to owners and visiting mechanic workshops/garages, and owning a toyota and a lexus, I'd authoritatively say it BOLDLY Lexus is a better car if you got the money,knowledge and patience. Besides, the RX300 is nothing more than a Toyota highlander V6 (which is 100% better than a Rav-4) in different skin and badge.

Hmmm.... one post asked a contributor if he'd actually driven both cars to which he struggled to fanthom out a reply.

I'm a Toyota guy anyday but then I did hear the rumours too that this particular RAV 4 left the factory with ECU and Transmission issues. Similarly I almost made a 'MISTAKE' in December when I nearly purchased the RX300(2002) model.

Yeah, I say mistake because upon carrying out a small research from friends and other folks alike who have used the RX300, I arrived at the conclusion that this vehicle 'SEEMS TO HAVE A HISTORY OF GEAR BOX WAHALA'

My advise to the OP is to probably save up some more money and go for the Toyota Highlander or RX 330.
