Hi,

A relation of mine is interested in starting this business.

But the problem is getting the land to farm.

You all know the cost implication of getting land in Nigeria is very high

And this business would need up to a hectare of land or what?

Please reply.

Ok next question:
1. Frm ur experience, how much can u harvest frm a plot of land of 60ft x 120ft.
2. How much can u sell the said produce on the worst market season.
3. I believe the market is very lucrative cos I see d way Its usually rushed. so how do u sell it or price the melon (is it per bag, per dozen or per melon) And does size matter?
Thnks ince again

nice thread, planted mine 4 days ago and they are popping out already, the thread by mangam motivated me a lot, I read from page one to the end and learnt a lot, I was really excited seeing them grow in such a short time.

I will upload some pics tomorrow, I planted okro, maize and ugu (pumpkin) leave also.

Pls I need someone to put me through with using the insecticide, when is the proper time to start spraying to avoid insects

I use hybrid seeds mixed with local ones

I wish everyone here a bountiful harvest, keeping working hard and may God bless our hustle.

You start using insecticides after they've sprouted and you keep using weekly/fortnightly until u harvest. Don't forget to use fungicide (z,-force, funguforce) too.

Better to be used with the insecticides as prevention is better than cure. Some say when it start fruiting
