It's Igbo name. I think d full pronunciation of that name is..'Onyemaechi' and It means..'Who knows tomorrow'. People that bear that name are also called..'Meche'

Ameachi is my name not same like onyemechi(onyema),Amaechi(meche) is more like a question "tomorrow is known"?

For those complaining about "chi" being in many names, its origin had nothing to do with the christian God. In igbo culture /mythology, every man has a guiding spirit or chi. A defining spirit which protects and guides the physical. When someone starts facing challenges, you hear sayings like,"your chi has abandoned you" there are common sayings in igbo land to butress the fact, e.g. "onye kariri mmadu kariri chi ya" , meaning that when you are stronger than someone, you are stronger than his "chi"., "onye ya na chi ya so", or "onye chi ya mu anya", meaning someone that is still in sync with his chi (someone who hasnt been forsaken by his chi). The origin of the word chi is not from any foreign religion. The advent of Christianity transformed that into the God almighty (Chukwu, Olisa) we all talk about. So yes! Name your child "chi" anything, you would still be keeping touch with the original igbo tradition, not a christianized tradition as some would have you believe. Your " chi" is an important force in shaping one's life patterns, i ga agba oso ghara chi gi?

Nearly every name would have a 'chi' or 'chukwu' attached to it. Igbo names are indeed a spectacle.

bigfrancis21: Chijioke - God own's the share.
Nnamdi - my father(God) lives.
Obiageli - a visitor(to this word) must partake in its goodness.
Chimaobi - God knows the heart.
Chimdike - My God is strong.
Oluebube - Glorious work.
Obianuju - one(a child) that comes in time of fullness.
Chinedu - God guides.
Adaobi - daughter of the Obi, ie princess. Also, Adaeze
Adaora - daughter of the people.
Chinua/Chinualumogu - Let God fight for me.
Ogochukwu - God's kindness.
Kosisochukwu - As it pleases God.
Onyekachi - Who is greater than God?
Nneka - mother is great.
Nnedinma - mother is good.
Nneoma - good mother.
Ezinne - virtuous mother.

In my opinion, Chijioke actually means God holds (is the custodian of) creation ("oke" being shortened from "okike", meaning creation).

"Oke" also means share, but in the context of name Chijioke, I believe it means creation. Otherwise, what share of what does God own?

Please throw more light if you have a better explanation.

chidimma(chichi)- 75% of girls with this name are cute, smart and intelligent.
Mgbeke(mgbee)- funny, the real meaning has been altered,it now used to refer to ugly girls.avoid the name.

Ngozi(ng)-lovely girls just that some of them are bossy in nature but are fun to be with.

Olisaemeka(olisa)-lovely name for talented guys.

Ifunanya(ify)-lovely set of girls that are so so romantic.

Chiedu(edu)-most guys with this name often roll in cash and money, and travel a lot.they are often called Edu brazil.

Anene-back then in primary school,we use to make fun of guys with this name,(looku-looku).literally i think it means make you look.

The above hypothesis are personal until scientifically proven.but i think sometimes, names affect the way people behave.
