Nigeria loses 10 pilgrims in Mecca
Lagos - The Coordinator of the National Hajj Commission in Mecca, Aliyu Tanko says 10 Nigerians in Saudi Arabia have been confirmed dead while performing the Islamic hajj rites, Premium Times reports.

Tanko said at least 50 000 Nigerian pilgrims have so far arrived Mecca with virtually all them having performed the Umrah rites.

He said that the commission’s three clinics in Mecca and those set up by the various state pilgrims boards provide effective medical services to Nigerian pilgrims in Mecca.

Nigerian pilgrims are always dieing in Mecca eachtime they go for pilgrimage and I keep asking WHY?

I know there are some category of people that will blame the President for these deaths also.

It's normal and not a strange occurrence.

Some people go to Hajj when they know they are sick or weak and their condition is death threatening with the believe or mindset that if you die in Mecca, paradise is your portion!

The reality is weather or not they went to Mecca, when your time is up it is up.
Who won't die?
We only pray to God to make us live on earth long enough and make us die a righteous death.
Some people died whist committing evil.
But these people die doing righteous deeds.
May God forgive the dead and grant them a blessed hereafter and May God have mercy on we that are still alive, so we'll die a righteous death.

Many of them forge and pay hugely to be certified medically fit for the trip where as they are not. May Allah bless their souls since they died in the holy land

Mr man, do I know you? And how would you know what I say and what I do not say.
Weather SCOAN building collapse or Mecca death, every soul shall taste death and the place where one will die one must surely go there to die.
Dying on road accident, in sleep, air crash or building collapse are just circumstances. There are some people that nothing was wrong with them before they died.
Even though some death could be avoided but it doesn't change the fact that we are all going to die.

You see some of the comments above and yet, it's the muslims who are being accused of disrespect and intolerance for other people's religions.

May Allah forgive the sins of the departed and grant them Aljannah. That said, while it is the wish of many muslims to die while performing hajj, it seems the authorities have to improve on the health screening of intending pilgrims.

People with health related issues shd not b allow 2 go. Dyin in an holy land without being holy makes u a candidate of hell. It is not whr u die dat determines why u go but u do while alive. RIP
