I dont know why a reasonable person should get a particular job because of high pay.that's why some army officers are dying,because they are only there to collect money and not to defend with good mentality.but no matter how much they earn,i can't join NA because my future plan wont work out well if i do.

am sure the friends you referred to are graduates but the 80k been talked about is for someone that enter the service with secondary school certificate.

No need to insult him, you don't know where he is coming from. In the Nigeria of today where some graduates earn as low as 50k with no job security, no BIKs, no prospect of promotion e.t.c, the NA job is a 'big' tin.

i believe every sector should be paid with the same salary scale such as health,teachers etc likewise police,custom and even army.

Na the same salary both army, navy and air force dey collect..so far as I know the alert I see every month on my friend's phone is 67k and she is a sergeant...

I think the pay is good,and u guys did not add up other allowances,so with the allowances it should be high,I think the defence pay in nigeria is Good ,with free houses and transporting ,I think is ok,

Spence has done a proper breakdown of the salaries of the rank and files , yet some pple are still yapping that is not enough . The question is, which salary is enough? Every job is a risk, what happens to our core civil servants whose take home after task is 67k yet they are graduates some don't even earn up to that depending on the organization. I respect the Nigerian armed forces especially the Nigerian army cos my father is one and I am a civil servant. A recruit don't earn up to 80 k pls.

No pay is worth risking your life...

The problem of this country is poverty. People go into the army because of salaries not passion anymore.

If NCOs are getting as much as 80k and they pay them on time, that's a decent salary as per Nigerian standard.

Free what. Inside that 80, they will remove house rent, 2k pension, and other nonsense. You will be left with sub-total 50k and a little+.
