............. ...VAGINAL ITCHING........ ........
Vaginal itching, or vulvar itching, is a
tingling or
uncomfortable irritation of the vaginal skin
and the
surrounding area (vulva). If you have this
condition, you may
want to know some of its common
* CAUSES
, including:
Chemical Irritants.
Products with various chemical elements
such as
detergents,femi nine sprays, fabric
softeners, ointments,
douches, creams, and contraceptive foams
or jellies that can
cause itching and discomfort.
*
....Vaginal Yeast Infection.
*
It involves a discharge that is white and
curd-like. It can be
the effects brought on by antibiotics,
pregnancy,
menstruation, condom use, birth control
pills, sexual
intercourse, diabetes, and a weakened
immune system.
*
Vaginitis.
This is a common occurrence in
preadolescence, but older
women can catch it as well. It involves
inflammation,
discharge, itching, and odor that are
effects of other
infections, including sexually transmitted
diseases.
Menopause. This period in a woman's life
causes estrogen
drop that results in vaginal wall thinning
and less lubrication,
which may trigger vaginal itching.
Stress.
This may increase vaginal itching and
make you more prone
to infections.
Other possible causes of vaginal itching,
though these are
less common,
include:
Pinworms.They can cause parasitic
infection that triggers
vaginal itching. The condition often affects
children.
*
Skin Conditions. There are skin conditions
that affect the
vulvar skin, some of which may even be
pre cancerous. Ask
your doctor about your skin condition as
early as possible to
detect potential problems.
*
Symptom: A Tell-Tale Sign Vaginal itching
can be the result of
various environmental factors. It can also
come from
something as simple as trapped bacteria
under too many
layers of clothing. Warmth and moisture
make the perfect
environment for incubating infections.
Vaginal itching can be
a manifestation of a variety of infections,
.....such as....
bacterial vaginitis, vaginal yeast infection,
and trichomoniasis.
The itching can also signal an allergy in
soap, deodorant or
dye chemicals, or may simply be a sign of
thinning vaginal
tissues in women approaching
menopause.

WAYS TO RELIEF VAGINA ITCHING
There are ways to relieve yourself of
vaginal itching with
simple and logical approaches, including:
Get a Sitz Bath. A
sitz bath or hip bath is a type of bath in
which only the hips
and buttocks are soaked. Several forms of
vaginitis respond
well to simple home remedy of water and
saline solution. You
can do this by dissolving a half-cup table
salt in a shallow tub
of warm water. When you are in the tub,
insert your finger
into your vagina to let the solution in.
Remove your finger
afterwards and relax for 10 to 15 minutes.
Do this for two to
three consecutive nights. Abstain for the
Duration. Do not
engage in sexual activities, especially
intercourse, until the
itching clears up. If the itchiness was
transmitted by your
partner, you should really avoid re-
exposing yourself to
trouble. You may show love in other ways.
Be creative.
Consider Using Condoms. Condoms can
protect you from
unwanted pregnancy and sexually
transmitted diseases. Try
getting used to condoms to be on the safe
side. However, if a
bout of vaginal itching seems to follow
condom use, you may
be allergic to the condom's latex rubber,
powder coating, or
lubricant. If this
happens, stop using condoms and resort
to other preventive
measures instead.
*
Bag the Douche and Powder.
Douching does not help relieve vaginal
itching, and it may
actually be dangerous. Douching may drive
infectious
particles up through the cervix and cause
pelvic inflammatory
disease. The use of cornstarch and talcum
powder is
questionable as well. Tiny particles may
collect near the
ovaries over time, which may increase the
risk of ovarian
cancer.
***Consult Your Doctor***
When to consult your doctor? If the itching
persists for more
than three days and does not respond to
home remedies or
is getting progressively worse, you may
need to consult your
doctor about the nature of your infection.
Depending on the type of infection, your
doctor will
recommend the proper approach or
treatment. Also, if you
cannot pinpoint the cause of your itching,
you may want to
ask your doctor, just to be on the safe side.
Get Help for Menopause Symptoms.
*
If you are approaching menopause, ask
your doctor
regarding changes that you may
experience in the vaginal
region. Ask him or her about treatments
for itching caused by
changes due to the impending
menopause. Hormone
replacement therapy is an alternative, but
ask about
prescription hormonal creams for the
vagina as well.
*
Treatment or Prevention for Yeast
Infections Though vaginal
yeast infections are quite common,
frustrating, and
burdensome, these infections respond well
to treatment.
There are also preventive measures to
counter such
occurrences
