QUIETNESS CAN ACQUIRE YOU SUCCESS (PART ONE).
One of the secrets to success is the ability to find solutions to problems. Another is the ability to commit fewer mistakes. The second secret mentioned being the reason why engineers design against failure, and the reason why a certain Mourinho does not fancy a possession based football style of play. The aforementioned ability or values (that is, the ability to find solutions to problems and the ability to commit fewer mistakes) can be acquired through the practice of one extremely simple act- the act of Quietness. The truth is that, quietness can add lot more betterment to your life than just these two values. How?
From the beginning of the Yoruba Empire, a popular saying had ensued; the saying is popular with them. They say: ‘Ti oju ba fara bale daadaa, a ri imu’, this translates to if the eyes were ‘relaxed’ it can see the nose. This is true literally, however, the intended message in the saying is this: if we would keep our mouth closed( that is, relaxing our eyes), we would see opportunities, remember appointments and the names of important people to us, we would see why and how some people are making it in life and how can make it too, we would see the relevance of that tough mathematics and even find solutions to them, we would discover those bad habits of ours we need to drop for better ones, we would not find it difficult to understand why that babe is saying no to us or why that dude is not looking at our side and so on. Basically, we would see a lot.
There is little to dispute that if you had kept your lips tight closed while you were watching those plates you would not have broken one. And neither would you have said the wrong word while being eager to impress that dude, hence, the fewer mistakes I mentioned. Apply this in your place of work, don’t hum or have an earpiece in your ear while typing the document your boss would have you type in the office tomorrow.
And the ability to find solutions to problems can still be achieved through the act of keeping quiet while carrying out chores. Because during such activities, your mind will naturally travel to those problems posing a great challenge to you and some suggestions on how to tackle the problems will occur to you, slowly and almost effortlessly. When they occur to you, think well about them and soon, the ideas will become substantial and you will always remember them. You can also always create the quiet times for yourself- say on the bed at night before sleeping, or whenever you are less busy in the day.
Finally, you would be amazed by the amount of betterment that would have happened to you in a considerably few number of days of your applying the act of Quietness.
