The Positions

Our quest to become a world-class leader in providing Engineering, Construction & Project Management services has thrown up the need for experienced, purposeful, resourceful and goal-driven individuals to join our team.

OPERATIONS MANAGER, POWER (Ref. PECL 2008/01)

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager, Operations. As the Operations Head of the company’s core business unit, the ideal candidate for this position has responsibility for
 Multi project planning and execution by providing advanced technical leadership and direction to subordinates.
 Overseeing all facets of the daily operations of projects; ensuring compliance with PECL and Statutory Policies and Regulations.
 Ensuring optimum staffing for all power projects
 Ensuring provision of necessary tools and resources required for timely project delivery.
 Providing technical information and advice as required by the commercial department in the tendering process.
 Creating an enabling environment that ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of Project Managers.
 Ensuring projects execution and delivery meet clients’ and company’s expectation in terms quality, timely delivery and profitability.

Candidate for this position must possess a minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree or recognized professional qualification in Electrical Engineering with, at least, 15 years’ post qualification experience, four of which must have been at the senior management level in the Power industry. He must be committed to maintaining a high standard of work, personal integrity and professionalism.





SENIOR/PROJECT MANAGER, ELECTRICAL, BUILDING (Ref. PECL 2008/02)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, each candidate has direct responsibility for ensuring that project outcomes meet professional standards, client and the company’s expectations in terms of the quality of project designs, drawings, execution, delivery and profitability. This, among others, entails
 Preparation of project budget and time frame.
 Preparation of project design drawing, shop drawings and ‘as fitted’ drawings as may be required
 Ensuring timely delivery of project to the satisfaction of client and company and within budget.

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree or equivalent recognized professional qualification in one of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Building Engineering with a minimum of ten years cognate working experience. Strong communication, IT and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.

ENGINEERING MANAGER (Ref. PECL 2008/03)

The position reports to the General Manager, Operating with responsibility for project design, engineering, estimating and tendering. This entails
 Ability to read and interpret engineering designs and drawings
 Preparation of Bill of Quantity
 Good knowledge of materials pricing and maintenance of a good market intelligence network
 Valuation of on-going project works

Candidate for the position must possess a minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with, at least, 10 years’ post qualification cognate experience in the power and mechanical/electrical services industries.

SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEER (Ref. PECL 2008/04)

The position reports to the General Manager, Operations. The key responsibilities are to ensure effective execution of projects in line with drawings and other specifications. The position is to
 To develop, maintain and sustain a planning unit for the company
 Ensure timely execution of projects and within budgets
 Assist management in project review and evaluation

Ideal candidates must possess bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering with, at least, 07 years of post qualification experience in Engineering planning.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR, CONTRACTS (Ref. PECL 2008/05)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the key responsibility of the position is to ensure effective and efficient delivery of projects in line with contract specification. This entails:
 Administration of contract terms in line with company policies and legal requirements
 Ensuring proper budgeting for project before work commencement.
 Monitoring progress of work, contract profitability and billing system
 Ensuring adequate documentation and timely preparation of claims on projects
 Maintaining good relationships with the client and other relevant stakeholders

Successful candidate will possess a university degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying with, at least, five years’ experience performing similar functions. Excellent interpersonal relations skills and high level of computer literacy are essential.

SITE MANAGER (Ref. PECL 2008/06)

The position reports to the Senior Project Manager with responsibility for all on-site construction activities. Specific responsibilities include:
 Management and effective utilization of materials
 Monitoring and deployment of personnel
 Ensuring that project milestones are met

Successful candidate will possess a bachelors’ degree or equivalent professional qualification in Mechanical, Building or Electrical Engineering with vast experience in managing multi activity sites and heavy equipment.
