It seems the word or rather the phrase "status quo" has more than one meaning.
In the news, TVC reported that court's ruling says status quo should be maintained on the issue of Tambuwal's security which was withdrew recently. However, the two opposing lawyers seems to interprete the ruling differently.
Lawyers on Nairaland, please explain this ruling.

As far as Am concerned, Tambuwal, should step down, then go to court to prove the provisor, THAT PDP has factions or has merged.
The constitution is clear on this.

Then the court will reinstate him, else he should focus on his campaign for governorship position in Sokoto state.

Status quo, the judge should have stated clearly what he wants to say.

Status quo is a Latin phrase meaning the existing state of affairs.[1] It is the nominal form of the prepositional Latin phrase "in statu quo" – literally "in the state in which", which itself is a shortening of the original phrase in statu quo res erant ante bellum, meaning "in the state in which things were before the war". To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they presently are.

Following the definition above from WIKIPEDIA,
The present situation is that TAMBUWAL has no security.
Let's keep it that way till, the case is properly heard and judgement ruled.

And I wonder why APC folks keep comparing his case to MIMIKO and others.
The constitution never said if a governor or members of state congress deflects, it only mentioned NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
any way APC love sentiments.

Can you just listen to yourself?! After he signs a book and hands over to the 'right authority' that he has resigned, he would still go to court and challenge his resignation?! If he resigns today, there's no way the court can reinstate him, unless the constitution ain't duly followed when doing that. As in the case of Bala Ngilari, the then Deputy Governor to Murtala Nyako!

No need for arguments, Mr ITK, the constitution is clear on this. He automatically lost his position on deflecting, if he feels otherwise let him go to court, which he has done.

some people just keep ♍ƺ wondering here! Is there no difference between a governor and a law maker. I thought this has been corrected so many times. That constitutional provision is only meant for law makers not applicable to governor.
