my mechanic did something that got me upset last week so i thought i should share it with you all. i travelled to Abuja and while driving around the city, my car developed a fault. i took it to a nearby mechanic workshop where it got fixed. the bearing of my car was changed!...now here is the bombshell...when i got back to where i reside, lagos, i decided to take my car to my personal mechanic for servicing. i left the car at his workshop for a whole day. the next day when i came to get my car he told me my bearing(the same bearing i just bought) are worn out and needs to be replaced. i doubted it knowing i just changed it of recent, so i asked him to bring it so i could see for my self...lo and behold, it was a different bearing entirely he showed me. i know this cos i know the brand i bought in Abuja and it is definitely not it...so i just played along. i asked him how much a new one costs, he told me. i gave him the money but i also instructed him to let me see it before installing it. later, when i came back, he brought it to me. i checked it and discovered it was the same bearing i bought in Abuja. i asked him to bring the pack and nylon, he said he had disposed them....i laughed at his folly.he coupled my car and i left.

Beware of the mechanic that always
return balance of money you gave him to
buy parts. They do that to win your trust. It
will will not be long before they hit you hard
without you knowing it.

Beware of the mechanic that preaches the word, and even invites you to his church....

Doomsday is around the corner

So you still take your car to him after playing along with him to your detriment?! You are a very rare breed. Wait till he deliberately destroys an expensive item in your car and asks for an outrageous repair fee. A dishonest man is very capable of evils you can only imagine.

Hmmm...If I were you, I'd go mechanic shopping instead....that dude could steal candy from a baby!!

Anyways, my little experience: Got a pretty bad fuel leak in my ford focus somewhere near to the fuel rail pressure sensor. I took it to my old mech. After drowning the poor part in epoxy resin with no sucess he advised I buy an ENTIRE fuel rail-injectors and all- or change the entire setup to carburrator. It might have been possible that he didnt want to rip me off- but then it will go to show his little know-how, which is weird 'cos everyne says hes the best ford mech around here.

After figuring out one of my pastors is a mechanic....i made the switch and have not looked back.

All artisans are bunch of liars.

Imagine a mechanic calling you to know how far with your car, because he's turned me to a mobile ATM.

No matter what you do,they always have a way to scheme their customers.

Let him know your grievance......
THEN FORGIVE HIM!

Things are not easy these days, but honesty pays!

AND BE YE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER, TENDER-HEARTED, FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER, EVEN AS GOD FOR CHRIST'S SAKE HATH FORGIVEN YOU!

Beware of mechanic who is your church member.
Beware of mechanic who is your family member.
Beware of mechanic who is from your village.
Beware of mechanic who is your neighbour.

But NL people, if you have been using car that has been taking you to mechanic you should be able to know the spare parts and their prices. If you are not internet savvy nairaland is a place you can ask questions about car spare part prices and you will get different opinion to make your judgement.

@op next time always have a picture or video such event so that you can proof the foolishness of that mechanic.

All of those workmen are the same. It now depends on we that need their service to prove if we be mumu.
