First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan Responds To Buhari's "No First Lady" Issue. by Kakakino(m): 1:09pm On Dec 27, 2014

The office of the Nigerian First Lady in the most recent 6 years has provided for us epic one liners that will everlastingly be installed in our era’s dialect. Who can overlook, “Na Only You Waka Come” and the “There is God ooooo” yet all that it set to change if the APC presidential applicant Muhammadu Buhari gets voted in as president.

For Buhari has gone on record to state he would boycott the office of the First Lady on the off chance that he’s chosen president.

His reason: It’s Unconstitutional.

In a late meeting with Weekly Trust in Kaduna, the presidential competitor said his choice to cancel the First Lady’s office is situated in the reality there is no office of first woman in the Nigerian constitution, pretty much as there is no official part for presidents’ wives.

Rather, he said services, which are protected, for example, Ministry of Women Affairs ought to be permitted to assume their part.

His choice to boycott the First Lady’s office is not against ladies, he has guaranteed ladies would assume key parts in his organization.

To begin with Lady Patience Jonathan on her part has to a degree reacted to Buhari’ “No First Lady” strategy. Amid a metro gathering in Abia State yesterday she urged ladies to reelect her hubby. She said:

He has met the 35 per cent Affirmative Action for the appointment of women into political positions in the country.
The President has done a lot to tackle the developmental needs of the nation, in spite of the challenges and opposition against his administration.

Let us take advantage of our numerical strength to vote for the re-election of the President, because more Nigerian women had been appointed to political offices by Jonathan’s administration than past administrations. Nigerian women should no longer go back to the kitchen. It is not our portion to go back to the kitchen. We have women that are capable. We can contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria. We women are suffering but God will see us through,” she said, adding that the president had helped to alleviate the plight of Nigerian women.
