The leadership of the App Progressive Congress (APC) has reacted officially to the "Buhari Certificate Scandal" for the first time after nearly a week the issues was reported. The spokesman for the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed (retd) has expressed regret in informing Nigerians that Maj General Muhammadu Buhari has no Secondary school certificate to show anyone as required by the Nigerian law. Alhaji Mohammed said that "Maj General Muhammadu Buhari (retired) lost it while he was in detention for over three years after the Gen Ibrahim Babangid's coup. The APC National publicity Secretary went to say that while Buhari was in detention, his captors raided his residence and vandalised his property including certificates and diplomas. a "Consequently, after his release, whenever the General is asked about his academic qualifications, he would refer such bodies to the Military Command (Military Board), who has his service records including his academic certificates" The Nigerian Army clarified over the weekend that they do not keep the original copies of anyone's certificate, but they are in possession of Buhari's Military records. There are few questions for Buhari and APC leaders who are aware of Buhari's situation and decided to allow Nigerians to fight themselves over an obvious issue. 1] Knowing that the amended Constitution (2011) required every Aspirants and party candidates to present their Original Certificates, what did they do as a remedy for this? 2] Buhari lost his Secondary school Certificate after 1985 Military, why did Buhari not state this in his sworn Affidavit to INEC? 3] VP Sambo claimed that his certificate was burnt when his house was burnt years back, but was able to request from his University, the ABU, Zaria to issue him replacement copy with a school covering letter. Why have Buhari not done the same since 2003, he started contesting for the Presidential seat? 4] If Buhari is busy, why have the leadership of APC failed to get a copy of Buhari's School certificate from the Government College Katsina? 5] Why did Buhari's affidavit not mentioned that he lost the certificate from Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College Katsina), a certificate he NEVER had? 6] For you that have insulted Hope For Nigeria, what is your opinion now it is re-confirmed from the APC that Buhari do not have a secondary school certificate? It seems GMB and APC are taking Nigerians for fools. Why lie under oath that your certificates are with secretary of the military board when is was stolen? They are two parallels that contradict each other. We are not buying it. Buhari must show us his certificates or be disqualified. And he must be procsecuted to lying under oath. If truly he (buhari) does not have his original certificate with him; he would take a decision which will verify that the original certificate isn't with him, which he did. I believe this is another propaganda by the ruling party to ridicule Buhari which won't work because the truth will be revealed. There is nothing as sweet as power; this many people think but they actually forget power either bless or curse you! Buhari contested in 2003, 2011 why wasn't the issue raised?!. berem: Anybody could miss or loss his or her certificate for one reason or the other, a simple court affidavit would suffice, but Buhari chooses to state that his original certificate are with the military board, when the earlier could have applied. This is always the last straw pdp uses when all hope is lost. In edo after oshomole won, pdp decided to be saying the guy had no certificate. They went to court and lost after the case was lost, and evidence proven. General buhari if he had no certificate would have said it got burnt like sambo. But he told us who it is with. The same military accepted that they have the copies and buhari could apply to get it if he wanted to. Inec told us they do not have power to screen or verify certificates and that has been proven in the times gmb contested previously. Gmb gave an affidavit, in an affidavit you are suppose to list the stated documents which you posses with its year of issuance. If what Gmb stated do not exist. Its obvious the pdp would have lashed on that and make the military confirm to the world that such degress was never acquired(since the military has the well documented file histroy of all its generals and head of states) and gmb would have been disqualified by law that asked for a minimum certificate requirement. Buhari hasn't released a statement on any of the certificate issue because he knows how irrelevant the propaganda is. If he wanted it he would have simply applied to get it, is it to gullible e-rats of Tan he would now be displaying it to. Or have gej showed you his. it shows inec does not have the justification to demand or screen it by law and so it doesnt bother him. All this talk are just mere propaganda by people who want to have straws to sobber their pathetic case on. I dare say if gmb has no certificate he should be disqualified now, but that hasnt happen and wouldnt. Or is INEC or the pdp scared to use it against him if it doesnt have one.
