I run an Internet discussion forum called Nairaland, which makes money by displaying context-targetted ads.

The Nairaland Forum is profitable on paper, but that's only because the owner/administrator doesn't take home any salary to maintain itself. So we're in a position where we need much more traffic so we can get enough revenue to pay the administrator, employ contract programmers to implement miscellanous features and perhaps hire third parties to work on the site full-time.

UPDATE: This was 2005. Now in 2007, the business is truly profitable, but still it only employs one person - me!

2. A Web Hosting Business
3. Adsense Income Ads from 3 portals.
4 Some other websites i have percent in, which earn from membership.
5. Some other real life investments (shares in some setups like house,cafe etc).
6. Forex, Autosurfs and some other HYIP programs.
7. Web design and intranet apps development, when I am in the mood.

I am going to earn in the next coming month from.
1. An investment club which would be online based.
2. A blog i got partnership in, so another adsense income.
3. A payment gateway which is under process to be launched.

So many initiatives on so many fronts! I'm even more impressed now than I was before - I was aware of at most only half of what you've listed here. I think it's good to have the resources to launch business projects on many fronts because one is never absolutely sure which one will be really successful.
