How To Export Car From USA

Exporting of the cars from USA has become easier these days when compared to the earlier days. To export car from USA complete documents, information and profile of the owner has to be produced for exporting and importing the cars in order to get the approval from both the governments.

Re: I Bought A Car With Auctionexport! by Export1: 11:01pm On Sep 01, 2016
The person who attempts to get his car exported from USA to his hometown has to be present at the Customs and at the port of exportation, along with the required documentation and the information about the VIN, and if VIN is not available then PIN (product identification number). The cars will be allowed to move out of the country only if these documents are verified and approved.

If the USA cars are exported through the land border port then the owner has to produce the ownership documents to that port before three days of the export. The owner should also present the vehicle to U.S Customs for complete comparison and verification about the produced documents that is described under the ownership. The original titled ownership documents that are certified by the US government will be considered as the valid proof of the ownership.

The procedure that is followed to export car from USA by ship or plane are the same when compared to that of the land border exporting. Here too, the documents belonging to the ownership of a person has to be produced before 3 days of the landing of the goods. Such vehicles will be authorized by that particular government only after complete inspection of the documents.

I'm currently having one of the worst time of my life because I took a chance on Auction Export. I can't help but think a lot of the positive comments about this company is put up by insiders. My experience is not good at all. My advice to anyone who wants to buy a car abroad is that you be careful. Once your money leaves your hands, the rest is history. I will save some of the horrific details I had at the inception since my issue is yet to be resolved and hope I get a response from them. However, the issue I have presently is with a car I financed to Cotonou.

After paying about $4500, my 2016 toyota corolla is being held ransom at Cotonou by their agent. One Mr Martin. The shocker I got when my car was due to arrive Cotonou was a message forwarded to me by my brother who I put as consignee for the vehicle that an agent contacted him about the arrival of a container. And my car was one of the 3 vehicles in it.

Then came the twist. The agent sent an sms with the bills due for payment upon arrival of the vehicle. Of course one would expect to pay custom fees in Cotonou when your car arrives. But then additional of 200,000 cfa to (according to the agent) unstuff the container? And this is after splitting the bill three ways. After protesting, the agent called to say I could pay 160,000. Then alarms went off in my head. This is not pepper that you start pricing. Not after you have purchased the vehicle and the man you are haggling with has the bill of laden for your vehicle.

I contacted auction export and to my surprise, the once urgent tone I got when I hadn't balanced up the payment for the car became nonchalant. Robert will push me to Vanessa, who will push me back to the agent and round and round. None responding directly to the questions I asked.

At the moment, I am tired and worried customs at Cotonou will impound my vehicle. I have even gone as far as telling this agent that I will pay his 160,000 cfa if he can send me breakdown of what this payment entails with either an invoice or a receipt. That request is a week old now. No response. All I have been getting from their agent are threats of demurage or seizure if I don't send the unstuffing fees plus the customs and clearing costs for cotonou to his account (this is after I have told him I don't need him to help clear my vehicle since I don't intend to bring it to Nigeria yet and instead I just wanted my regular agent at Cotonou to help transfer it to an autopark), no questions asked. Where is auction export in all this? Quiet! I have called Roberts and Vanessa several times today and all I get is voice mail. Called the customer service line, they tell me they will get back to me. In the midst of all this, the agent in Cotonou keeps sending threats.

The irony of the whole scenario is this. I'm being told by my agent who has met with this Mr Martin that it seems they are muscling me to pay whatever fees they put up or they will conive with customs to have the car seized and then they can rebuy it back door. I don't know how true this is, but all the signs point to the fact that this people don't intend releasing my Bill of Laden to me.

If there is anyone out here who can help me. Please help me. $4470 is a lot of money at the current dollar rate. I'm full of regrets. I should have stuck with my copart and iaai. Stayed of the stupid financing in the first place.
