INDICATIONS have emerged that prominent Northern leaders and elders who had initially declared support for the candidacy of General Muhammadu Buhari in the February elections have started reconsidering their position, following alarms that the general might be suffering a serious health challenge.

Sources had told Pointblanknews.com that the retired General is allegedly suffering from prostrate Cancer but it could not be immediately confirmed from any medical records.

Online channels had last week indicated that Buhari collapsed during the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in
Calabar, Cross River State.

Though the party had denied the report, it was learnt that the development had immediately prompted meetings among top hierarchy of the Northern political establishment to review the Buhari situation.

Sources in the polity had told Sunday Tribune that the North is becoming wary of a possible repeat of the situation it found itself following the
death of President Umaru Yar’Adua in office in May 2010, some three years into his tenure, following a debilitating sickness.

The illness had surfaced during the 2007 presidential campaign, leading to rumours of Yar’Adua’s death, but he bounced back on the campaign train and won the election.

“The North is beginning to rethink the promised support for Buhari in view of reports that he is suffering from a certain ailment which is believed
to be wearing him down. There are also reports that the elders are pushing to cut a deal with Jonathan to complete his tenure in 2019 but extract a promise that power would be returned to the North via a younger and energetic Northerner,” a source said.

But APC spokesman in the South-East, Comrade Osita Okechukwu, had dismissed claims about Buhari’s health, saying that the alarm was designed to create doubts about the APC presidential candidate.

He said: “They are only trying to dig up what is non-existent; no record of their claim. The General has his doctor and anyone can contact him,
rather than speculate.”

A Northern politician said at the weekend that the North was still suffering from the effect of Alhaji Yar’Adua’s death in office, adding
that it would be unfair to the North to risk the situation once again.

“There were reports that Yar’Adua was ill before he was picked by former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket. We saw the crisis coming but we believed that only God determines how long a human being will live. It would be bad for the North to have power return to the South-West barely ten years after Obasanjo spent eight unbroken years in Aso Rock,” the source said, adding that the option before the North was to cut a deal on 2019 when they could settle down to raise a strong candidate.

According him, the possibility of a truncated Northern presidency, in case Buhari mounts the saddle, will be too much for the North to bear again. He added that Yar’Adua’s death, in 2010, resulted in power returning prematurely to the South, which is in line with the constitutional provisions.

“If anything happens to Buhari, power will return to the South-West less than a decade after President Obasanjo left Aso Rock. The prospects are grim, both for the North and even the South-East that is queuing for their own turn,” another Northern top brass said at the weekend.

Besides, it was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan had, during his recent visit to the Minna Hilltop home of former military leader; General
Ibrahim Babangida, discussed details of Buhari’s health with the former military leader, a development that was said to have prompted the Minna
General to turn his support to Jonathan.

It was also gathered that prominent Northern leaders have already got wind of the discussions between IBB and Jonathan, leading to red hot
discussions on the way forward in 2015.

Buhari is a game plan by Obasanjo and Tinubu to reclaim power for South West. Oh how they have failed!

Buhari isn't sick, he just has congenital mental deficiencies (translation: him be mumu). Mumuness isn't a sickness, it's a state of the mind.

Anyway, I feel that BAT is pushing this sickness red herring as a cynical way of convincing sceptical SW voters to vote for his new best friend, in the futile hope of getting an Osibanjo president through the back door. This ploy will fail.

This is a sponsored article. This is the season for anti Buhari information since Dr Clueless has obviously started messing up his own campaign like he does everything.

BUHARI IS NOT SICK as Obi, IBB and others are also not sick. These are seasoned soldiers with strong constitution not zoologists.

Since the PDP has decided to float false news, I now expect APC to float information about corruption and financial malpractices against Jonathan and about six ministers as close as possible to the elections for maximum damage so that everybody is clear how powerful TRUE information can be instead of falsehood.

In any case you guys are just campaigning for the APC in the south west with all these false rumours, even though it is a lie you now give voters in the region maximum motivation to vote out Dr Dumbo in FeBuhari. Please keep this up.

the problem is you yorubas think you are wiser than anyone else. You are indeed sophisticated yet no person from the SW holds any top elective office in Nigeria presently.
I'm very happy this election is now between igbo and yorubas for GEJ and Buhari. We'll see whether you lots will be taken seriously in national politics again when Jonathan wins.

Tinubu is a smart guy after all. Buhari is 73, He has already lived beyond Nigeria's life expectancy. We can not afford a president that is living a bonus life, cos he can kpeme anytime and put our democracy on another reset button by default.

Buhari doesnt have the health to withstand the greying stress that comes with the office of the President.

you didn't engage your mental faculty when typing this. What elective position is he ranting about? What other elective position is in Nigeria other than office of d president? Obj just left the office 8 years ago. Maybe your thoughtless self want to tell me if any igbo son is holding any elective position in Nigeria presently. And can 2 pple be presidents at d same time?

And in case you have forgotten, gej was put there by a yoruba man. Now dat d yoruba man has withdrawn his support for gej, just wait as gej goes crashing back to otuoke. And do you know what is giving buhari confidence of winning? It is because he is being supported by a yoruba man. We are not in power, but we are kingmakers. We decide who rules Nigeria and who doesn't. We aren't bunch of empty barrel noisemakers like some peeps.

Dare to be a Nigerian

If you support PDP, you are paid to do so and apparently a thief;

But if you support APC, you are a patriot who is fighting for Nigeria.

If an APC governor award a km of road for N1.2billion, he is prudent and God sent;

If a PDP governor award same km of road for N500million, he is a thief.

If Fani Kayode joins PDP, he is bastard;

If Atiku joins APC, he is a democrat.

If Jonathan spends N7billion for his office par year, he is a criminal;

If Fashola spend same amount in a year, he is a saint.

If Akpabio approves N200Million as pension, he must be stoned;

If Fashola approved N300million for Tinubu he is a change agent.

If you cancelled toll gate as PDP government, you are an enemy of progress;

But if you build a road in Lagos, with tax payers money and toll the road, you are genius.

If you increase school feed as PDP government, you must be crucified;

If you do same as APC government, there must be a reason, cuz Education is not cheap anywhere in the world.

If you share Okada to the poor as PDP, you are poor peoples enemy;

If you ban Okada after election as an APC government, you are only helping the poor to stay alive, so you mean well.

If you single handedly make your daughter a market woman leader in APC state, it is for the progress of the people;

But if your wife is made a permanent secretary in your state by your state government of PDP, you are a greedy fellow.

If you spend N16billion on electricity without power and then support APC, you a navigator;

If you raise N500million through unbundling of same power, you are clueless.

If you fail to pay your workers for a month, but in APC, it is not your fault but someone up there;

But if you failed to pay your worker for a month and still in PDP, you are wicked human being.

If you force your family, in-law and girlfriends as senators and lawmakers on the rest of the party members, you a progressive leader;

But if you act like you don't care in PDP, you are dullard

If you tried to get a third term fraudulently by bribing the legislatures but failed, then support APC, you are democrat and the father of the nation;

If you try to get a constitutional second term in PDP, without their blessings, you an ingrate and silly.

In their time we had Halliburton scandal, ID card scandal, Siemens scandal, we have subsidy scam scandal, we have national stadium contract scandal, we have health budget financial scam, aviation sector scam, we had power sector scandal. How many people did he jail to prove he fought corruption? Rather EFCC was his big stick against his perceived enemies.

In their time we had a sitting governor kidnapped by a thug working for the president. We had a whole region of the country rigged in favor of his party. Morris Ibekwe, a wanted international fraud star won election under PDP.

Those who stole Nigerians blind under PDP; Atiku, Obasanjo, Baraje, Saraki, Wammako, Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Oyinlola, Segun Oni, Okorocha, Ngige, Adeleke, El Rufai, etc, are today the same people financing APC and calling for "CHANGE".

Flashback to 1999, who were these people? Billionaires ? They where nobody. Today, they spend billions and no one dare to ask a question. If you do you are enemy of progress.

They started with "New PDP" when that didn't fly, they joined a cult group called ACN to become APC. Same character with different name.

Sometimes it is better not to be a Nigerian than to be a confused and ignorant one.

Secondly ,tinubu and obj knew about this buhari certificate saga and issue they must have been planning to use it against buhari one way or the other if he eventually wins . Tinubu and obj can never be trusted. The north will prefer to go with gej for 4 years,than risk going with buhari who may be impeached for perjury or who may even not complete his term due to ill health.

The North should by now know better than trust the West on issues like this. Why do they think Tinubu and Obj are all of a sudden friends? Best for the North to allow GEJ complete his second term, and then enter into agreement with the East for 2019!

I don't think it is fair to generalise all this as a west agenda. Pdp has a massive followers base in the south west . And it is a common knowledge that pdp will win at least 4 states in the south west for the presidential. All this scheming is that of tinuburuku and his allies in the persons of obj and co. Most yorubas right now detest apc and by the end of this year election apc would have dropped additional 2 or 3 more states in the south west.

Prostrate cancer is not a death sentenced. If caught early is one of d beatable cancer. I don't suppose General Buhari with his stashed away wealth would not be going 4 medical check annually. If true, d cancer would be caught early & nip in d bud.
