Elder Statesman and a former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, has called on the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to sack former President Olusegun Obasanjo from the party.

Clark, who spoke with journalists at his residence in Abuja on Friday, accused the former chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party of working with the opposition against President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said it was wrong for Obasanjo to be working for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), which he said had shown with his (Obasanjo’s) criticism of the President.

He alleged that Obasanjo was defending Buhari over the N25bn unaccounted for at the Petroleum Trust Fund headed by Buhari because Obasanjo wanted Jonathan to lose the election.

According to him, “Obasanjo is defending him because he wants APC to win. How much corruption have you found in Jonathan that you are calling him corrupt?”

Clark observed that Muslims and Christians must live together in the country to hasten its development.

He said, “What is wrong with PDP? That man (Obasanjo) should not be allowed to be in the party. You beg him all the time, he has made up his mind. He gathered APC women to abuse President Jonathan.

“If a man you dissolved his committee (PTF) and he could not account for N25bn and you are now saying that man is not corrupt. Buhari and Obasanjo are the same. They are in a marriage of convenience just to remove Jonathan.

“Because Obasanjo is corrupt, he doesn’t know what the definition of corruption is. There is big trouble in this country when corrupt people call others corrupt.”

Clark said he has no confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission as he alleged that the chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega was biased against the return of President Jonathan to office.

“I have lost confidence in INEC. How can a university professor be so biased and does not want Jonathan to come back? It is so disgraceful that he has allowed ethnicity and religion to take control of him,” Clark alleged.

He also observed that the violence-free accord signed by presidential candidates including President Jonathan, Buhari and 12 others will not work because Buhari was not likely to keep to the terms of the agreement.

He said he was happy that President Jonathan made himself available to initial the accord.

According to the South-South leader, Buhari cannot be trusted to keep to the agreement in view of his alleged antecedent including his refusal, when invited, to appear before the defunct Oputa Panel set up to advance the course of peace in the country.

Clark, who said the accord did not mean anything to him, said he would however be glad if it could engender the necessary peace before, during and after the elections.

He noted that the accord was not necessary, blaming its existence on what he said was the desperation of some people who he said believed that power belongs to them.

Mathematicians, give us your answer on this. If Mr. Jimi Agbaje who is 57 years is too old to rule Lagos state, a single state out of 36 states, using the APCistorian formula of 57>73 (57 is greater than 73) what will be the likely fate of Pa Muhammudu Buhari who is 73 years old to rule a country of 36 states?

Even PDP knows jonathan is the problem.

Many people left PDP cos of GEJ.

Until you solve the problem, it will still persist.

PDP's loss is APC gain.

No nigerian politician that has fought OBJ has ever remained the same.Ask Okadigbo,Wabara,Atiku,Uzor Kalu,Nnamani,Anyim, after the dust of their fights
have settled they lost political relevance.P.D.P is heading in the same direction.

P.s:The only politician that has fought OBJ and still has political relevance is Tinubu.

Though I don't agree with some of his points, but I would agree with expelling OBJ from the party...

If OBJ won't support GEJ openly and he decides to support APC covertly by his body language and claims to be a card carrying member of PDP then he sure deserves to be expelled...

No matter what you should always be a team player and not be a back stabbing sell out to the party that brought you to power, just because you have a fall out with GEJ...IMO

Good, if you can't give your loyalty to the party you have claimed to belong, at least, you deserve suspension.

Too late to cry wen d head is cut off.

Mr. President, toying with the tragedies of your CITIZENS on the basis of POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY is the worst thing a leader can do. Mr. President, today is DAY277 of the Chibok Girls' abduction.Their parents cry your July 22 PROMISES.When was the last time they heard from you?.why is it that it is ONLY when the world FOCUSES that you demonstrate a flash of Leadership on TRAGEDIES of your CITIZENS?

This is the way things should be done in a sane society. One Ebora of Owu Kingdom cannot take us all for a jolly ride as if he is the Headmaster of Nigeria.....Obasanjo is fast losing it and it's time he is served with the same equal measurement of the judgment he passed on others. I wondered what he takes himself to be during his ignoble 8 years in power...Nigeria was indeed a State of Lawlessness, his permission for the take-off of Sharia gave birth to the present carnage unleashed by Boko Haram

Some Omoyoobas, including OBJ and even a Catholic Cardinal falsely believe that Osinbajo shall succeed aged Buhari in Aso Rock. That explains why most of the fanatic drive for Buhari for president come from the SW.

But Aboooki has learnt lessons from the events of the death of late President Yar-Adua .

If by any means or way Buhari becomes president of Nigeria May 29, 2015, in the next 50 years or even more, no other group outside Buhari clan shall smell Aso Rock.
