D’banj Reportedly To Appear In Court This January Over Debt Mess by Nobody: 5:24pm On Jan 23, 2015
According to documents gathered by Nigeria Entertainment Today (NET), D’banj will be appearing in court this January over the reported debt mess case.

The Pop star is currently finalising plans for his 10 anniversary celebration, with a major party planned on January 31, 2015, but will have to deal with the request by the court to attend a hearing.

Reports had emerged in November 2014, that a top oil and gas industry player, Henry Ojogho, alleged that D’banj obtained a loan of over N60m from him in January 2013 and has not paid back the said sum despite signing an undertaking to do so.

But the reports were denied by a representative of D’banj who refused to disclose his name.

Photos of the court summons have been obtained by NET, which has provided specific evidence proving that the reports are true and a court date has been set.

The writ of summons and other relevant documents in the suit have been posted on D’Banj’s residence on Osaro Isokpan Street in Lekki Phase 1. The pasting was done by the court bailiff on December 17, 2014 at about 1:35p.m, pursuant to order of court made on November 12, 2014 having been satisfied that the defendant was evading being served the notice.

The case is filed in court with suit number: LD/ADR/445/14 with hearing expected to commence on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Multi-door Courthouse in Obalende, Lagos with Justice Mrs Oyebanji as the presiding judge.

However with the on-going strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) which is over in its third week, the case may be adjourned if the strike is not called off before January 26, 2015, the hearing date.
