A middle-aged man, Tersoo Iwanger, popularly known as Steco, and his girlfriend, identified simply as Aisha, have been killed by yet-to-be identified persons in Gboko in the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

Aisha, a Fulani girl, and her Tiv lover were said to have been shot several times on Sunday as they were discovered in a pool of blood.

Some residents of the area told PUNCH Metro that Steco was among youths that were investigating the killing of a pharmacist in the town, which could have made the killers to come after him.

They added that the killers stormed Steco’s house around 6am when he and Aisha were still in bed.

One of the residents, who did not want to be named, said, “Steco along with some youths in Gboko were investigating the killing of a pharmacist, which has now resulted in his death.

“They arrested one of the gang members shortly after the murder of the pharmacist and handed him over to the police. The killers saw him as a potential treat.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, John Bako, said that it was a case of two gangs fighting.

The police have as case to answer. Because they want to put themselves in the limelight and they don't want people to see that their work in investigating crime was enveloped by the youth who were investigating the pharmacist death, they now formed a sentence that the mans death was as a result of 2 gangs fighting
