America, Britain, European Union, etc, (the critical mass of the international community that would have the power and means to judge Jonathan on whether the election was free and fair) condemned the postponement of elections. The poll delay is now viewed as significant measure to frustrate free and fair elections in Nigeria.

Jonathan is placed in a position where Buhari has to win in order for the elections to be deemed free and fair and for Jonathan not to be blamed. This is because the postponement of the poll is already viewed as significant encroachment on free and fair elections. For the polls to be to be accepted as free and fair, the opposition has to win.

This was the mistake I was hoping Jonathan would not make. But he went ahead to make it. You cannot delay the elections under a questionable circumstance and then turn out to win it. To do so gives an irrefutable retroactive purpose to the postponement. The President was ill-advised.

If the President wins and any violence ensues, the international community would look back to this act of postponement as a trigger to chain of events that led to the violence. And the President and his party will be blamed for it,

(I know you don't like this assessment. But it flows from the position of America and Britain, and I know they have the power and means and interest to call the shots. So, relax and think of how to help the President and his government out of the box).

OP. No matta how much blame America and the west heap on Jona if he wins, it still makes no diff becos they are democratic countries n wont infringe on nnaija's sovereignty. They can blame all dey want worse case scenario is to impose sanctions on the govt and its high ranking officials, cos if the impose too much sactions sef its the already poor n polarised masses dat will bear the brunt of stringent economic sanctions. jona and his cohorts kno dat, and its a risk they are willing to take because GMB matta is getting outta their control. Thats my humble submission
