These two, to a large extent, are used interchangeably. A Curriculum Vitae is more of a summary of your educational and academic backgrounds. It also includes your teaching and research experience and so on. A CV entails deeper revelation of your career. In other words, it is in depth when compared to a Resume. On the other hand, a Resume is a summary of your skills, experience, and education. A Resume is brief and concise in nature as compared to a CV which is longer. In reality, most job seekers don’t really differentiate them by the explanation given above. Rather, they tend to prepare theirs based on what their environment tagged it. Cv is British English and resume is American but they mean the same thing i.e a summary of your academic and employment history. How you compose it is matter of choice. 4 Likes 1 Share |
