Valentines day originally marks the day st. valentine's sentence to death was carried out. He was sentenced to death by a Roman Emperor (Claudius II). Reason because Claudius ordered all Romans to worship twelve gods, and had made it a crime punishable by death to associate with Christians. But Valentinus was dedicated to the ideals of Christ, not even the threat of death could keep him from practicing his beliefs he was arrested, imprisoned and sentenced to death.

One week before his sentence was to be carried out the jailer brought his daughter name(Julia) for Valentinus to teach her, because he had noticed Valentinus to be a man of learning, he taught her and she being blind from death saw the world through his eyes, trusted his wisdom, and found comfort in his quiet strength. A day came and she asked him if God really hear our prayers, and he told her he does hear every word. She told him she prays every day and night to see. they prayed together and she started seeing, on the eve of his death he wrote her a message telling her to stay close to God. And after his death that day had always been celebrated which turns out to hold every February 14. So am saying most people get it all wrong, including the Secondary School teacher who should have done her Research, won't also leave the fact that most people see it as a day to have sexual pleasure to the fullest.
