CHAPTER 2
Mark Ashimolowo Jnr walked out of the airport with his very portable travelling bag. As he approached parking lot where he has been told that a chauffuer would be waiting to pick him up, he could not but admire the well trimmed flowers that stood on either side of the lane he was walking on. Several other people were entering and leaving the airport, in one, in twos and in threes. Somewhere in the parking lot, he could see a family going through an emotional minute together. A young girl of about seventeen was hugging them one after the other, tears in their eyes. Maybe she was travelling to study abroad. He smiled as he remembered how his mother and wife was acting up when he was leaving.
"Agent Mark?" A dark stout man asked.
Mark nodded his head in the afirmative as he took the man's extended hand in his.
"Its nice meeting you... I have been asked to drive you to the hotel where you'd be lodged." The chauffer said.
"Good. Lets get out of here." He replied.
"You are American?" The chauffer asked. "Ashimolowo, how come?"
"I am a proud Nigerian and can we please leave?"
Immediately the chauffer opened the backdoor for him and he himself slipped behind the wheels. Slowly, he backed out of the parking lot and off he drove towards the airport gate.
"We are in Lagos right?" Mark asked.
"Yes sir."
"okay."
The journey continued in silence until the chauffer recieved a phone call of which Mark couldn't understand, because it seems he was speaking a strange language, but a bit of English could be heard.
"Sir, you are to meet the president and other security stakeholders tomorrow in Abuja." He announced after dropping the call.
"So, what do we do today? I mean its still early, will I just sleep all through in my hotel?" Mark asked.
"If you decide to. You have the whole of this week off and by next week, you resume your duty."
"You must be kidding me. Drive me to my new place of work and take my luggage to the hotel. Then come pick me up at closing time." Mark said as he unzipped his bag and removed his CIA identity car and zipped up the bag.
"Here we are." The chauffer announced fifteen minutes later and Mark alighted at a very spacious parking lot. A building stood next to it which bore the name, NIGERIA ANTI TERROR UNIT. To say the building was big is an understatement, it was huge and enormous, almost the same size as the CIA headquarters in Washington DC.
Mark approached the entrance and as expected he was stopped by security men.
"Your name." One of them barked.
"Mark." He replied immediately as if he had been expecting the question.
"Your ID card." The same security man said.
Mike gently handed his identity card to the man who produced an electronic card reader from his hip and placed the card underneath.
"Mark Ashimolowo, CIA?" He asked.
"Its on the card I suppose, why asking again?" Mark replied.
The security man eyed him suspiciously before he gave him back his card and opened the glass door for him and the moment the next door opened, he walked out.
"You are welcome sir." The security man said but Mark ignored him.
He took one last turn and he came face to face with a hall filled with so many people, sitting, standing, running around, bending over a table, recieving calls, discussing. He made a mental note to count the number of people in the hall, and he came up with about thirty to thirty five people. But one unique thing about the hall was the fact that every table in the hall had a computer each and everything seemed to be in operation. By the time he snapped out of his reverie, he realised he was been watched by several eyes.
He felt embarrassed that moment but he did well by hiding it and he was saved when the director of N.A.T.U came over to his side.
"Welcome agent Mark." The man who should be in his fifties, fair complexioned said.
"Thank you Mr...." He looked at the man's chest, but all he saw was a badge and not his name. Even though the uniform of every intelligence agency is mostly suit, the name is always crested on their chest and the badge attached to the ID card, at least, the few ones he had seen, CIA in America, DOD in America, FBI and even the Isreali MOUSSAD. Nigeria will always be different.
"Agent Collins. The director." The two men shook hands warmly and Collins beckoned on a lady who was as tall as Mark to come over.
"Here is Agent Christina, the head of the field operatives. Level five clearance." Collins introduced and Christina extended her hand.
"Christina, this is Agent Mark, CIA."
Mark ignored her handshake and turned to face his new boss.
"Can we please move?" He asked.
"Sure."
And with that, Collins and Mark walked away while Christina stood still in embarrassment.

Hi guys, as much as we are enjoying the story, the suspense is killing. This is why i like reading finished stories cus i don't like suspense. Though, i understand it's not easy writing a story and how busy you might be with your daily schedule. But nevertheless, try to Minimize the waiting time. Kudos to you.

I understand your point and I can categorically tell you that being busy is not what is stopping me from updating. If you followed All in a circle, you'll see that the way and manner which I update per day is yet to be matched on this section, but one factor responsible for that is the comments.
I want to believe that since the story started, you have commented over 5 times, but then some people didn't comment until the story ended and I never cared because the comments are just so many.
I will update today, no doubt, but it is only when the comments improve that I will be encouraged to post more often.
Thanks anyways.
