The party Leaders were uncomfortable that GEJ suddenly woke up and decided to convene the conference a year before election and the main suspicion then was that he will use the conference to lure members to approve 6 years single tenure starting from his tenure.
At that time APC Leaders felt the party's popularity will make the party wins presidential election with ease and allowing the conference to approve 6 yr single tenure will deny the party the opportunity to rule come 2015.
Because of the party structure and membership, they suspect anything and everything. The party keeps reminding me of 'abeni lori, ki je ki won mu ida koja legbe oun'

I think the main fear was alleged possible disintegration of nigeria having completed the circle of 100yrs of amalgamation. TheNorth knows too well that their only ATM for survival is the SOUTH and will not let it go without a fight.
Its only a matter of time, that ATM will go one day!

Because they don't believe in the principles of true economic federalism. They are Socialist who see nothing wrong in the current structure of Nigeria.

Because it's time wasting, distraction and waste of money.

- Mr. and Mrs. Odumakin am thinking.. both collected accommodation fee and etc; both entered as activist. Are they really activists or opportunist?

- No news about the confab until election period when the likes Faseun, Adams etc showing support for GEJ.

There were two national conferences before APC was formed. Where is the gain of their effort?

If Obasanjo, a savvy politician and big time political influencer could not make it happen, what makes anyone think the "clueless" Gej will succeed divesting the center?

They are ignorant and selfish. Tinubu is an A.ss hole. He is trifling with a great future that the Yorubas will attain rapidly under regionalism and true federalism. Tinubu is Moses leading his people BACK TO EGYPT.

did obasanjo make it happen in the agric sector?

Did obasanjo bring back the trains ?

did obasanjo fish out the ghost workers and pensioners robbing Nigeria of billions of naira daily?

Did obasanjo stop the fertiliser scam?

Did obasanjo provide single interest loan for SMEs ?

Did obasanjo cut down food import, saving Nigeria billions of naira and increase export?

The clueless Gej did and lots more.

So why cant he implement it?

It was a 'come and chop' charade., if the President is serious about restructuring Nigeria, he should sign the constitutional ammendment bill as passed by the National Assembly and the majority of the State Houses of Assembly after due consultations with Nigerians at public hearings held across the country with memoranda submitted.

pls forward this answer to afenifere, not to vote gej because of fake national conference that cannot be implement. Apc were against it because of d short period to pass it into law,if jona were sincere,he would have convene d national conference 3yrs ago,so that it can be pass into law by now, this national assembly cannot do it again, automatically d bill wil be dead by may 28, jona d deceiver, secondly,we don't want national dialogue, but sovereign national conference, which d outcome cannot be determine by national assembly or d president.buhari wil convene sovereign national conference within a year.

Because they saw from the beginning that it was a ploy by GEJ to bargain for a second-term/re-election by tying the implementation of its outcome to his re-election. In otherwords, they saw through GEJ's bull.shitt. cheesy

National conference is a big SCAM. You have a National Assembly you are doing National conference. Clueless, locally minded President and his Yoruba friends confusing him. The National Assembly can restructure Nigeria anyway they want, they are duly elected representatives of the people, the only problem is CORRUPTION and people selling their tribes and ethnic nationalities for a mess of porridge in Abuja. PIB is in the cooler, Revenue reform to give Niger Delta 50% or more of their resources was not even considered by the fake National conference yet you had a Niger Delta president wearing bowler and smilling fake smiles at the DUMB people supporting him.

Everybody's anger is directed at another ethnic group instead of the thieves is office stealing from our unborn children.

I've always made it known.
This administration loots too much for it not to be working.
The money is there but no, they would rather share it among themselves.
Making a few unbelievably affluent and the majority massively poor.
Another thing is this guy doesn't sound like someone who is mentally mature.
He is what one can call a simpleton,
He believes whatever those around him tell him and shuts his ear to the pressing and obvious needs.
Just hear him talk and watch how he shivers.
