Musiliu Obanikoro's role as Minister of State II Foreign Affairs...

Yesterday, Musiliu Obanikoro was sworn in as the new Minister of State II Foreign Affairs. Many people didn't understand what the II there meant and his role. His Special Adviser (Media Strategy) Ohimai Amaize just clarified that on twitter.

Minister for this, Minister of that, Minister of state in this, Minister of state for state for that.
The new trend now is adding roman numeral or figure to the portfolio.

The summary of everything is chop make i chop jare.

Pitying these days primary school pupils having to undergo the stress of learning the current affairs or Civics cos everything has been complicated.

Another proof GEJ will destroy Nigeria because of his incompetence and sheer callousness. Why insensitively and irresponsibly create another totally superfluous position in a period of bleak economic reality for Nigeria that means we must cut government cost drastically and not add to it?

This is waste of scarce resources that are not available. Why can't we just have one Foreign minister? Minister I and II will have individual offices, personal assistants, convoy, official houses, etc. All these costs the country a lot of resources.

You are a mofo(no offense) there is a little concepct called seperation of powers.GEJ does not and will not execise judicary power. There is this little presumption in law known as Homo praesumitur bonus donec probetur malus" (One is innocent until proven guilty.)

lt is clearly stated in Section 36(5) Every person who is charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed to be innocent until he is proved guilty;
Provided that nothing in this section shall invalidate any law by reason only that the law imposes upon any such person the burden of proving particular facts.

As for investigation. The executive does not have investigative powers rather it is the legislature according to section 88 of our constution whic states that
1) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, each House of the National Assembly shall have power by resolution published in its journal or in the Official Gazette of the Government of the Federation to direct or cause to be directed investigation into -
(a) any matter or thing with respect to which it has power to make laws, and
(b) the conduct of affairs of any person, authority, ministry or government department charged, or intended to be charged, with the duty of or responsibility for -
(i) executing or administering laws enacted by National Assembly, and
(ii) disbursing or administering moneys appropriated or to be appropriated by the National Assembly.
(2) The powers conferred on the National Assembly under the provisions of this section are exercisable only for the purpose of enabling it to -
(a) make laws with respect to any matter within its legislative competence and correct any defects in existing laws; and
(b) expose corruption, inefficiency or waste in the execution or administration of laws within its legislative competence and in the disbursement or administration of funds appropriated by it.

I actually did not want to take you serious before, but now that you have chosen to publicise your ignorance, I have no option but to educate you.

The constitution clearly states the power of each arm of government as follows:

The Legilative arm make the law
The Executive arm implement the law
The Judiciary arm interprete the law

Now in this case the legislative arms (which includes the National Assembly and House of Rep) prohibit the act of election rigging- Job done, they make the law

The Executive arm which comprises the police, army, DSS, SSS etc has the constitutional power to implement the law by making sure no violator goes unpunished.

When the accusation was made by Sgt. Koli, the President has the role of ordering the intelligence team to investigate this crime - Has GEJ done this? NO

It is after various investigation, if found guilty, the accused will now be arraigned in a court of law as suspect.

The judiciary has the role to interpret the offense of the accused to him, and the prosecution takes effect.

If the executive arm is "bad" the Judiciary will be rendered inactive.
GEJ has turned deaf ears to the allegation.

Don't just copy and paste, understand the constitution.
Okay?

Okay?

Investigating crimes is the work of the police and legislature not and never the president.According to you the president should order the police to investigate it.Using your logic every single crime commited in the society will be left uninvestigated until the president gives the order for it to be investigated

The judicary as a body is independent. It is not only the police that can prosecute law breakers individauls or body can do.If one is so sure about the authencity of the tape they can take it to court

The Police belongs to the excutive arm right?
Perhaps you don't know the gravity of this allegation, the people indicted are top nationals.

The president, Obanikoro, Ayo Fayose, an army general was indicted.

This is the main reason he as to order the investigation.

Defending GEJ is avery difficult job, even Doyin Okugbe, Reuben Abati can attest to this.

Precisely. Unfortunately we are cursed with a President who does the opposite of what is required to bring solutions to the myriads of problems facing Nigeria. GEJ is completely about the abandonment of what is best for the average Nigerian to then be 'sharing' our nation and resources amongst his pals and cronies. This is how we got where we are today.

We have to ask what manner of callous and hideously insensitive leader GEJ is when he is increasing government spending, at a time when Nigeria must cut cost and be extremely prudent, all for the sake of accommodating one of his political jobber pal in governance? Why for god sake? Why must the likes of Obanikoro never find anything to do with their wretched and worthless lives beyond hankering for political office and why must they continuously be indulged by spendthrift leaders like GEJ while Nigerians look on like mumus? These are the sort of needless appointment that has seen our recurrent expenditure swell above and stay well beyond 70% of our annual budget. Tragic. These insensitive acts show that GEJ is very much part of the problem and not the solution.

This issue is not about a private citizen heading to court.
We look up to the president to prove his clean handedness in this issue by surmoning respective authories to do the needful.

The is not about private citizens, it is about democracy, it is about Nigeria and how the international communities will perceive us to be.

Immagine this kind of allegation on the person of president Obama.

No sane President will honour or dignify a suspect of a ministerial position at the time he is still not able to proof his non involvement in the alleged issue.

It is indeed a national disgrace that this same man will represent the face of Nigeria globally.
