The issue is this: front page of most dailies usually carries the most striking headline of the day, so the news of abduction just had to be on that front page. PDP (or whichever GEJ support group is that) already paid for the advert and time is running out, as elections are close, so there is no way the advert would have been put elsewhere on the paper or deferred for another day.
The situation is quite unfortunate, but it's nobody's fault. The people that decided to make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ have essentially succeeded, but we just look to see how it will be for them (the north) whenever the baton gets to them again.
