Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

Job Code (FE-01) • Plan, schedule, design, construct, inspect and maintain civil and structural engineering facilities such as roads, bridges, buildings, dredging works, drilling locations and jetties in support of Oil & Gas exploration and production activities.
• Provide the above facilities to time, cost, quality, resource and statutory requirements.
• Lead and manage civil/structural engineering projects and opportunities to realize value to the Joint Venture and stakeholders.
• Manage HSE and third party relations on projects
• Coaching and development of engineers within the discipline • Civil engineering graduate with minimum of Bachelor’s 2nd Class degree and 8-10 years relevant post-graduation experience. Possession of a higher degree in civil engineering will be an advantage.
• Candidates within Nigeria must be COREN registered, while applicants from outside Nigeria must belong to professional bodies registerable with COREN.
• Good working knowledge of a broad range of building and civil engineering systems, standards, procedures and tools.
• Diverse working experience in project management, conceptual and detailed design, and construction.
• Experience in most of the following areas: geotechnics and foundations, buildings and building services, structural engineering, highways, drilling locations, water supply and marine structures.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Good inter-personal leadership, coaching, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage a large and diverse group of people working in different locations.
• Ability to manage contractors’ work quality to match or exceed contract standards.
Senior Process Engineer

Job Code (FE-02) • Provide specialist expertise in the area of process engineering design in the various phases of project life-cycle namely, concept selection, front-end engineering, detailed design, commissioning, start up and operation.
• Review new technology and sponsor trials in SPDC with aim of incorporation into either new projects or existing operations.
• Ensure compliance of Shell engineering standards and procedures in process engineering discipline and assist to review and revise procedures and standards if such need arise.
• Provide expertise to carry out optimisation throughout the project lifecycle including de-bottlenecking of pipeline and process systems.
• Support in deployment, evaluation and training for Process Engineering Software in line with the Global Process Engineering Software portfolio.
• Lead or participate in project design reviews /HAZOPs and other peer assists, reviews and audits.
• Coaching and development of engineers within the discipline. • Chemical / Process Engineering graduate
• 8 to12 years of relevant experience in E&P oil and gas processing and transportation in concept selection, front-end engineering, detailed design, commissioning, start up and operation. Competency skills should include but not limited to
• (1) Oil processing processes e.g. separation, water treatment, etc (2) Gas processing e.g. compression, dehydration, dewpointing, condensate stabilisation, etc (3) process control and safeguarding (4) Flow assurance
• Competent in process simulations tools e.g. Hysys
• Competent in preparation of PFD, P&ID, Cause and Effect, Hazardous drawings etc.
• Good interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
• Good communication skills essential.

Senior MCI Engineer

Job Code (FE-03) • Provide technical expertise and technical review capabilities in the area of MCI engineering including incident reviews and participate in materials selection process for new oil and gas plants, facilities and pipelines.
• Identify new technologies applicable to SCiN/SPDC surface pipelines operations and environment: evaluate these both technically and commercially, and possibly progress deployment.
• Participate in SPDC's drive to enhance its asset integrity both from a design as well as an operational point of view for all projects in the pre-start up phase.
• Participate in projects audits / reviews, and QRAs during concept development, conceptual and detailed design basis.
• Carry out Corrosion Risk Based Assessments. Also, via participation in VARs, peer assists and technical challenge sessions; ensure consistent application of SPDC MCI engineering standards in projects and in facility changes.
• Develop own skills and competence in line with changing business needs and technical advances in discipline. Evaluate and capture new knowledge and learning.
• Coaching and development of engineers within the discipline • Incumbent must be a graduate in a technical discipline (preferably Material and Corrosion Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, etc.) with a good working knowledge of a broad range of Materials, Corrosion and Inspection engineering systems, tools and practices.
• Have a minimum of 8-10 years experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry mostly in materials, corrosion and inspection engineering.
• Familiar with Group and international materials, corrosion and inspection engineering design codes and standards.
• Good communication (i.e. report writing and presentation) and inter-personal and leadership skills. Inter-cultural awareness, leadership and team integration abilities are also required.
• Strong conceptual innovative thinking with technical, analytical and commercial business skills.
• Registrable with COREN and NSE.
• Participation in international profession activities and networking is desirable.
• Candidates within Nigeria must be COREN registered, while applicants from outside Nigeria must belong to professional bodies registerable with COREN.
Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Code (FE-04) • To provide in depth discipline expertise to Project Teams, Central Engineering/Operations and Maintenance Departments concerning all aspects of Electrical Power Systems, Analysis and Control engineering through front-end engineering, conceptual and detail design, procurement, construction, and commissioning and initial operation.
• To ensure compatibility with the overall system process design, and cost effectiveness in the selection of the equipment, in order to minimise life cycle cost.
• Conduct Feasibility Studies
• Provide electrical engineering support for projects, field operators and maintenance engineers
• Participate in electrical personnel certification activities.
• Assist in the revision of electrical standards, infrastructure planning and update and the review of new technology and field trials.
• Deputize where necessary in Regional or Group Technical and Operational Excellence (T&OE) forums/networking.
• Implement and drive benefit capture of initiatives within Individual Performance Contract.
• Coaching and development of engineers within the discipline • Graduate Engineer in Electrical Systems registrable with COREN and NSE.
• Minimum of 10 yrs experience in Electrical Engineering Practice.
• Experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical industry particularly in the areas of design, construction, commissioning and start-up will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years working experience in Engineering Role/Medium Projects; minimum of 3 years in Construction, Commissioning and Start up and 2 yrs in Operation/Maintenance Portfolios
• Good working knowledge of a broad range of electrical engineering systems and tools
• Demonstrable experience in technical clarifications, equipment specification, inspection and testing major equipment.
• Working knowledge of the Nigerian, Industry and International Standards and familiar with Special Oil and Gas Standards
• Experienced with the requirements of technical audits
• Capable of managing the link between Contractors and the equipment Vendors /Manufacturer to ensure that the facilities are built in compliance with Shell Group standards and SPDC Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) policies.
• Good interpersonal leadership, technical and communication (including written) skills.
• Self-starting ability, driven to succeed, and a proven achiever.
• Willingness to ask questions, learn, and develop new abilities

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Code (FE-05) • Provide specialist expertise in the area of Static and Rotating mechanical equipment engineering with regards to: Developing basis for design, selecting/specifying/sizing/evaluating of mechanical equipment (Pressure Vessels/Exchangers/Tanks, Relief systems, Compressors, Pumps, Gas Turbines etc) and other utility and piping systems, detailed engineering and FAT/SAT.
• Provide Technical consultancy services to Asset Area teams.
• Participate in technical reviews/audits for project designs
• Review consultant designs and ensure that designs meet project specifications.
• Assist in facilitating Design reviews, Hazop etc and ensure action items are properly closed out.
• Manage site construction activities.
• Coaching and development of engineers within the discipline • Mechanical Engineering graduate (Minimum B.Sc) Additional Qualification will be an advantage
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical design for Oil and Gas Facilities.
• Additional maintenance/Construction management experience will be an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, must also be a good Team Player

Senior Instr, Control & Automation Engineer

Job Code (FE-06) • Provide specialist expertise and in the area of Instrumentation, Control & Automation (IC&A) Engineering Design, Operation Integrity and continuous improvement of existing and future surface facilities.
• Optimise existing assets and resolution of abnormal IC&A operational problems.

• Identify new Control and Automation Engineering related technologies for implementation in support of SPDC’s growth programme and continuous drive for cost reductions
