Yes "Nigeria army" has become a cult, they keep doing the same thing over and over again and achieving the same result,

amongst the principles of war there are:
-Flexibility
-concentration of power
But NA is not using any of these

Countries whose GDP is not up to that of Nigeria are maintaining armies of about 500,000 men because they understand that security comes first. If the Nigerian economy is properly taxed we can get enough revenue for this.
Without "security" there won't be any "economy" in the first place.
So why not do things properly so that we can have proper results

For instance those people in Lagos that call themselves NURTW, the money they collect from bus drivers alone can pay soldiers salary, but does that money even get to the government? No,

During the lock down in USA when they started looting in Hollywood, California, The government sent in the National Guard and not police.
U re funny.
How do u know nurtw don't remit to govt authority.

From the evidence he provided, the Nigerian army budget is worse than that of Air force.

I which you really know the meaning of recurrent budget (salaries mainly). Not where you can buy anything from.

While capital budget is for procurement of every other thing you need ( not just military hardware).

200,000 army personnel vs 20,000 Airforce personnel (x10).

34 billion capital budget for Army with 200,000 personnel and Airforce get 26 billion for personnels 10X smaller.

Nigerian army budget is really bad when compared to Airforce and Navy.

That one I will not talk about o. Inflated budget in civil service is learning from that of the military.

Is like 10x the original amount in the military.

The current security condition in the country is worse than any other time in the last few decades. It is the government's responsibility to ensure the safety of lives and properties, and the government is failing at that, but is the failure of the government the only factor responsible? Absolutely not, I support the sacking of Buratai but the truth is that the situation will remain largely the same or even worse than before no matter who the next COAS is, even if we had the whole arsenal of the United States military to use, these terrorists will just devise new methods to achieve their goals. The situation we are in today is as a result of our economic and social problems. Many youths today believe that the only solution to their problems are crimes and violence, many don't value human lives and covet properties that are not theirs. We expect the government to do every damn thing for us while we sit down to enjoy the fruit of the labor of the government. We only discuss security problems here because it is a security thread but the truth is that there is problem in every aspect of the life of an average Nigerian citizen. The government already borrows far more than it can generate so that it can at least alleviate some of our problems yet we want them to find more money to keep spending. How many of us here pay taxes(especially income tax) yet we receive a lot of benefits from the government in the firm of services and subsidies on goods we consume individually like drugs, food and oil. The government pays #40 on every litre of fuel you use, that might be inconsequential to you but sum up that amount on the average 60 million litres we use in Nigeria everyday and multiply it by 30 days to know what it will amount to every month. Thats 72 billion every month, imagine the number of MRAPs that will buy for troops on the Frontline to save more lives. Americans pay tens of thousands of dollars every year for the duration of their courses to be able to get a college/university degree and many use the greater part of their career years paying "students loan" yet many people not contributing a single naira to the federation account enjoy the same benefit virtually free of charge(howbeit of a lower standard but almost the same value in the labor market) imagine the amount the government will save and will be able to spend on security and infrastructure development if all universities, colleges, hospitals and other governmental institutions are self sufficient like they are in most developed countries.
The most unstable region in the country refused to develop their youths for several decades yet except the government to perform miracles to help them achieve the results of the regions that invested in human development. Was it the government that forced them not to train and educate their youths?. It is so bad that educational bodies uses different standards of measurement for each region under guise of "Educationally disadvantaged states". All those youths they refused to train, what do they expect of them. We all know the story of some other people in another region who under the guise of "amnesty" receive monthly salary for doing absolutely nothing. What do you think will happen when government stops paying them?.
You all should ask people in the western world you so much look up to how hard life is for them too in the essence that they work very hard to get little and must contribute to the finances of the government from the very little they gain from, yet you want the same development as theirs.

My point is that the insecurity problem is a ripple effect of so many other problems caused by every single one of us and people(soldiers, terrorists, bandits, and innocents) will keep dying for several decades to come unless we all start thinking and finding solutions to our problems individually. We've got several things wrong and we haven't even realized that, until we realize that we have no one to blame but ourselves for whatever happened to us and around us, we are going nowhere. That is why the few who can think to some extent are leaving our societies and country so that they could leave with people who are more serious with their lives.
Word from the wise.
But I think babaowen will disagree with u on the benefit Nigerians get from the govt, cuz he ones told us Nigerians benefit nothing from the govt, in short govt is always demanding from the citizen.
Like I have said b4 if govt can let the electricity generating companies charge Nigerians wat other African nations re charging their own citizen u will see the power infrastructure b3 fixed.
How did I realize this, it is when I researched th3 amount other nations re paying for electricity, then I realize we be been enjoying all dis year long.

Let him kuku allow his VP take full charge of the country atleast he will still be answering President instead of allowing political appointees run the country by proxy. Governance in this country just tire person. Everything seem to be in disarray.

I think the way some of our high ranking officers and even their wives are treating the lower ranks is very bad, just look at how the navy personnel was complaining , I've seen soldiers almost becoming house boy's to their superiors, I knew some when I was a little boy growing up, they were doing the cooking, laundry, washing of cars and driving ogas children to school.

Funny thing, I know officers that have had issues with their wives, regarding the way they treat ratings working under them, most officers wives, usually want to turn the ratings to house boys , some officers turn blind eyes to it, some would rebel against their wives.

I know a rating that approached an officer, to report an issue of the wife gossiping against him, and reporting him to the madam, and in front 9f the rating called the wife out, asked the rating to repeat what he said, the woman couldn't deny it, and slapped his wife in front of the rating, the rating said he just quickly discharged himself.

This orderly bullshit is far worse in the army. You go serve as gateman, clear farmland, wash Oga car, escort him pikin to school and clubs, act as his driver, do security for Oga wife, run errands etc.

There was an incidence that happened sometimes ago , many years back where I used to live. An orderly attached to a Colonel and asked to watch over his wife and the kids. One day the colonel came back home and the orderly approached him for complaint and said in his words
"Sir, I no fit dey watch over madam and do work for am day and night and I go still dey use my money buy food outside"

In his words, he was always maltreated and misused by the ogas wife and still she doesn't feed him. The superior officers maltreat orderlies. It's always worse with the wife of the officer, they will basically turn you to houseboy. Most of them are usually privates, corporals and Lance coporals. They don't really do that to staff sergeants and above coz 70% are usually old enough to father them outside the military. I've even seen a lieutenant used as an orderly for a general. . It seriously needs to be looked into.

Not too long ago when Chad uprooted Boko from thier territory. When the comparison was made many here felt indignant and even tried to question the validity of the Chadian claims.

It was as clear as daylight that they were moving back to their comfort zone, Nigeria. We expected a murderous hell fire welcome for Boko. Indeed seeming that old PMB did not have the capacity to copy and emulate Idriss Deby by leading from the front.

Burutai took the place and claimed he was going to be in the forefront lots of posturing and shameless PR stunts. Indeed there were members of his choir singing his sycophantic praises.

I questioned these antics as whimsical and lacking any substance. They even attempted to compare as being on par with the French search and destroy missions in Operation Barkhan. Such were the levels of delusion.

Well there is no propaganda that can hide the depth of ineptitude, incompetence he has displayed.

Boko are running wild and our combatants are an the defensive not offensive.

Boko are becoming so bold , l will not be suprised if they attempt to attack Maiduguri airport and destroy our air assets positioned their. It has happened before.

I wonder if in anticipation that they cannot guarantee the security of out air assets that they have moved them from Maiduguri to a location further away from the frontline.

Meanwhile the esteemed COAS us launching s book, probably preparing himself for a political career, where he will be welcomed as a hero.

General Adeniyi is facing military trial for unauthorized outburst about troops morale in the viral March 30 video.
https://twitter.com/HumAngle_/status/1282955262832279552?s=19

It is now very obvious that Buratai is removing all obstacles to his ambition. He recently posted 3 other former theater commanders of operation lafiya dole to TRADOC in Niger state. I only pity the CAS and CNS because he will definitely drag them down with him when things go south. The CDS has been largely ineffective too.

https://twitter.com/HumAngle_/status/1282747024304111616?s=19
Major generals LEO Irabor, Ibrahim Attahiru and BA Akinroluyo are the former theater commanders posted to TRADOC. Needless to say, we all know that is where they all would most likely be retired.
