The first picture discribes how ISWAP creates diversion so as to be able to move logistics elsewhere.
The second is how ISWAP is financed. The fish business. NAF needs to intensify attacks on fishermen in the lake Chad, many of them work for ISWAP.

The Nigeria Military is keeping Naija safe because some parts of the country still wants peace and are not ready for violence.

If everywhere in Nigeria goes into full violence mode like NW and NE there literally nothing the Army will do than to pack up and every personnel going back to chill in their zones.

Pls help me loud the volume for them to hear...pretending and telling oneself that all is good amd fine is never the solution....there is problem in the land and we are all heading for the rock....thats the fact some people are hiding from....!!! We need urgent solution instead of lying to ourselves....!!

Did you just day NAF should attack fishermen? This sounds insensitive & irresponsible at the same time, it is well known to everyone that most of those fishermen pay taxes to ISWAP in order to carryout their business w/o harassment same way they tax other commodities within their territory. If you don't want them to pay taxes it's either you relocate all of them and arrange a way to cater for them or flush out the insurgents. The government can't be forcing people to leave IDP camps back to their communities some of which are still being held by terrorists and expect them not to do the biddings of the terrorists, they only trying to survive, if you were in their shoes you will also pay those taxes to save your life/business... Life is already hard for these people we shouldn't compound their woes.

A Nigerian military base in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State has been reportedly attacked by armed persons suspected to be members of Boko Haram.

Residents told Channels Television that the terrorists drove into Katarko village in 10 gun trucks and attacked the military formation, where they engaged the security operatives at the base in a heavy shooting.

The residents were forced to run into the nearby bushes for safety but a military source said the troops repelled the attack.

This is the third time the community has been attacked by the suspected insurgents this year alone.

Katarko is located 20 kilometers South-East of Damaturu, the state capital and has witnessed frequent attacks by the insurgents.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force under Operation Hadin Kai has continued its onslaught on terrorist targets on islands and localities around the Lake Chad area.

The latest attacks were carried out earlier this week, following intelligence reports that about 20 boats were seen conveying between five and seven suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists to an island in the Lake Chad area and Malam Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to the Air Force, the mission by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai confirmed the high concentration of terrorist and insurgent elements hibernating in the Lake Chad general area.

It noted that the air operations will be sustained until the area is rid of all terrorists and insurgents.

This is coming about two weeks after the military authorities confirmed the death of ISWAP’s leader.

ISWAP has not given any confirmation of al-Barnawi’s death and the army has claimed before to have killed jihadist commanders only for them to reappear.

More than two million people have been displaced by Nigeria’s conflict since it began in 2009, and the violence has spread over the borders to Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Gunmen Sunday morning allegedly attacked the Nigerian Police Division at Unwana, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi state and killed three policemen on duty, including a constable and two inspectors.

A source from the area, who spoke to our correspondent noted that the gunmen stormed the area around 2:am ,adding that one of the gunmen was killed by the police during the attack.

He said: “They killed 3 policemen: one constable and two inspectors and the police killed one of the gunmen. Nobody knows the identity of the gunmen and police have taken the remains away.

“The incident happened around 2am. Nobody knows the route they came from. All we heard was gunshots for about 10 minutes. At the moment, there is no information to know if they destroyed or stole anything from the police station.

“The men were masked, but the one killed had been unveiled by the police to ascertain his identity. He also had red clothe that looks like a charm tied around his waist.”

It was reported that ISWAP constructed about 2000 boats for the purpose of fishing and patrolling those waters, the vast majority of those fishing in the lake Chad Islands are ISWAP members or at least work for the terror organization. The government has banned fishing in that part of the state and anyone still fishing in the lake is committing an offense. Government has every right to enforce the ban. There are other towns where such activities are allowed for example baga town.

And then the attacks does not necessarily have to be on humans, the airforce could go after the boats being used for such activities during the hours they are not being used and are beached or moored

If an Intel like this is flying around and our military didn't out measures to stop the attack or ambush them, then its of no use fighting this war.

In context of repeatedly falling for ambushes and suffering unacceptable losses, i cant help but wonder to what extent, if at all, complacency, bravado and foolhardiness plays a role due to fate in Charms.

also how Fate in Charms complicates the useful military doctrine that 'he who dares wins", I.E the fine line between risk, acceptable and unacceptable risks ....

The indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has secured a U.S. court’s leave for an extended period to file its objection to a motion seeking to dismiss its suit against the sale of Tucano Jets to the government of Nigeria, court document seen byPeoples Gazette has said.

The United States District Court forthe District of Columbia on Friday ordered that IPOB be given additional 45 days to respond to the U.S. government’s October 18 motion seeking the dismissal of the suit.IPOB had on July 31, 2021 sued the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin over the sale of the fighter aircraft to Nigeria, asking the court to reverse the sale.

The separatist group had challenged the sale of Super Tucano military jets to President Muhammadu Buhari, saying security forces under his regime could use the hardware against civilian populations across the South-East.

They brought the case under the Leahy Act that prohibits the sale of U.S. arms to countries with a gruesome record of human rights abuses.According to the court documents, the plaintiffs “reasonably fear that the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft will be used imminently to kill or maim them physically or to destroy their property,” according to the complaint. In their defence, Messrs Blinken and Austin, in a 45-page memorandum on October 18, asked the court to dismiss the suit,as it lacks the jurisdiction to address claims by the separatist group.“It would be inappropriate for the court to weigh in on a sensitive foreign affairs matter,” the U.S. officials said.

IPOB, through its lawyer Bruce Fein, asked the court for an extension of time to respond to themotion for dismissal of the case.In his ruling, Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered that “that the Motion to Extend Time is granted, and that Plaintiff’s deadline for filing an Opposition to Defendants’Motion to Dismiss is hereby extended until December 2, 2021, and that Defendants’ deadline for filing a reply is hereby extended until December 22, 2021.

”The Nigerian Air Force had on July 22nd received the first batch of the12 attack and reconnaissance planes, whilethe remaining batch arrived last week.Although the federal government had ordered the aircraft to combat terrorists who have in the past years killed and dismissed thousands of Nigerians in the North-East, there were fears that they would be deployed against secessionists in the South-East region.

The Buhari regime had labeled IPOB a terrorist group in 2017, stating that some of its activities were similar to terrorism. “The actsand utterances of IPOB were acts and utterances of terrorists. For instance, Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader was caught on tape saying that they want Biafra and not peacefully, but by force,” Information Minister, Lai Mohammed had said. Also in the past few months, the regime linked a series of violent attacks in the South-East region to activities of the separatist organisation.

Sudanese officials say military forces have detained at least five senior government officials on Monday, as the Sudanese Professionals’ Association has called on people to take to the street to counter an apparent military coup.

The association, Sudan’s main pro-democratic political group, also said there were internet and phone signal outages in the country. The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

The arrests comes after weeks of rising tensions between Sudan’s civilian and military leaders. A failed coup attempt in September fractured the country along old lines, pitting more conservative Islamists who want a military government against those who toppled autocratic former ruler Omar al-Bashir in mass protests. In recent days, both camps have taken to the street in demonstrations.

The officials said the detained include Industry Minister Ibrahim al-Sheikh, Information Minister Hamza Baloul, and Mohammed al-Fiky Suliman, member of the ruling Sovereign Counci, and Faisal Mohammed Saleh, a media adviser to Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

Ayman Khalid, governor of the state containing the capital, Khartoum, was also arrested, according to the official Facebook page of his office.

The arrests have come as the U.S. special envoy for the Horn of Africa Jeffrey Feltman met with Sudanese military and civilian leaders Saturday and Sunday in efforts to resolve a growing dispute. Sudan’s Stat News website highlighted the meetings with military officials.

NetBlocks, a group which tracks disruptions across the internet, said Monday it had seen a “significant disruption” to both fixed-line and mobile internet connections across Sudan with multiple providers.

“Metrics corroborate user reports network disruptions appearing consistent with an internet shutdown,” the advocacy group said. “The disruption is likely to limit the free flow of information online and news coverage of incidents on the ground.”
