COAS TO TROOPS IN THE NORTH EAST AS EID-EL-FITR APPROACHES - "Remain Dogged, Unrelenting"

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged troops in the ongoing counter terrorism and insurgency Operations in North East to remain dogged and unrelenting in the critical stage of ongoing operations. He gave the charge at Headquarters Joint Task Force(JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai(OPHK), Maiduguri today Sunday, 1 May 2022.

The COAS, who was on routine operational visit to the JTF OPHK to assess the level of successes recorded thus far, called on troops to be more decisive in routing the criminal elements from their enclaves.

Gen Yahaya arrived the theatre of operations in company of some principal staff officers, where he was given an update on the ongoing Operation DESERT SANITY and Operation LAKE SANITY. He expressed satisfaction with the successes so far, urging them to remain vigilant and proactive during the Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.

General Yahaya enjoined troops to continue to decimate the insurgents, and deny them freedom of action. This he said, will provide a safe environment and opportunity for other elements of national power to play their statutory roles in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the theatre.

The COAS was conducted round on inspection of some combat equipment recently revamped using the Nigerian Army Electrical Mechanical Engineers Corps repair capability.

It's disappointing that we have light armoured vehicles "Otokar Cobra" must be over 20 years old now, correct me if I am wrong.

Without a RWS thats very poor, what does it take assemble a HD cameras, Thermal imaging and target acquisition software incorporated with a HMG.

We need to up the game this approach is mediocrity personified.

MNJTF Kills Scores of ISWAP terrorist including Habu Mukhtadah, a top Commander

The Troops of MNJTFOfficial have killed scores of ISWAP terrorists including a top Commander Habu Mukhtadah during a fighting clearance operations in the fringes the Lake Chad, Zagazola report.

The troops further proceeded to Tumbum 

Tumbun Rago and Tumbun Fulani and engaged the terrorists in another battle forcing them  to retreat and abandoned a  3 year old child who was rescued by own troops.

The incident occured along Eke Ututu - Orsu road in Orsu LGA of Imo state. The dissidents, inadvertently stepped on the IED which they had earlier planted along several routes in Orlu, Orsu Local Government Area, while they were attempting to evade troops' onslaught against terrorists in the area.

The IPOB have severally planted IEDs along troops' patrol routes in failed effort to bring harm to the troops.
We urge all peace loving people of the South East to please inform troops of possible areas where these explosives have been buried for evacuation and disposal.

For NN SBSC they use the IWI Tavor and that's the official standard issued weapon.
